Season 3, Episode 11
'The Dead Sisters Club'

"Rylin, right?" a voice asked from behind Rylin as she was helping Buck and Eddie wash the ladder truck.

Rylin turned her head and was shocked when she saw the girl she saved during the tsunami. "Sarah."

Buck and Eddie looked at each other, very confused as Rylin stopped what she was doing and walked over to Sarah.

"What are you doing here?" Rylin asked.

Rylin noticed Sarah's anxiety. "After my sister died, I had to be put into foster care." Sarah began to ramble. "Y'know, my parents died and then my sister, who was the only other family member I had o-or even had a relationship with, so I had to be put in the system because no one else would take me."

Rylin nodded but still wasn't sure why her story was relevant as to why she was at the station.

"I'm here because I wanted to see if you knew anybody that was willing to let me stay with them." Sarah said nervously. "The foster family I had was really rude and no social worker believed me when I told them I felt uncomfortable in that house, so I ran away. Even my best friend couldn't let me stay with her because her parents kinda suck, so I-I've been living on the streets for a few months now and I just can't do it anymore, so I'm trying to find a better place to live."

Rylin sighed as she felt sorry for the girl standing in front of her. Truthfully, she didn't know anyone willing to take her in. Then, she came up with an idea that she might regret later.

"Uh, you can stay with me." Rylin said, nodding, trying to make herself believe that it's a good idea. She knew not to act on impulse, but she had no other solution for Sarah.

"Really?" Sarah asked. Rylin nodded even more once she saw Sarah's eyes light up. "Are you sure? You look really young. You don't need to be taking care of a 16 year old."

Rylin laughed. "I'm sure. I have an extra room in my apartment."

Sarah basically leaped into Rylin's arms and mumbled a million thank you's into her shoulder.

A moment later, the bell rang and caused the girls to break away from the hug. "I got to go." Rylin told her. Sarah nodded, letting Rylin know she understood. "Why don't you stay here until I get back, and then I'll take you to my apartment."

Sarah nodded again as she watched Rylin hop into the firetruck.

"What was that about?" Buck asked as the team started driving to the accident they were called to.

"Yeah, who was that?" Eddie added.

"You know the woman I couldn't save when that building collapsed during the tsunami?" Rylin asked, fiddling with the wire to her headset.

Buck nodded, remember how sad she was. "That was her sister."

"She came to ask me if I knew anyone willing to let her live with them." Rylin said. "She had no family to live with after her sister died, so she was put into the system, but ran away and has been homeless for the last few months. I told her she could stay with me."
