Season 5, Episode 7/8

"All right, victim's name is Edgar Hill." Bobby announced as the 118 arrived on scene. They were called because apparently a man was somehow burried alive. "He told dispatch that he was carjacked, got shot and buried in some sort of coffin out here."

"Based on the size of an average male, that box is probably 86 by 30 inches. That's 45 feet of cubic space, most of which is taken up by Edgar." Bobby added. "So he's got ten minutes to an hour's worth of air left."

"We don't know how long he's been underground, right?" Buck asked.

"Or which piece of ground he's under." Bobby told him. "Cell towers can only limit the search by so much. Let's fan out."

As the team followed Bobby's orders, Buck jogged up to Rylin. "Hey, since it might take time to find this man, I was thinking we could talk."

Rylin sighed and glared at him. "How about we just do our jobs and worry about me later, yeah?"

"Right." Buck nodded as Rylin sped up and walked ahead of him.

The team finally grouped back together after a few minutes. "Buck, you got anything on sound detection?" asked Bobby.

"Nothing, Cap." Buck replied.

"If he's really out here, shouldn't he be able to hear us?" Hen asked.

"Cap, I got something." Buck announed into his radio.

"What?"

"I thought I heard a voice." Buck said just as the sound went away. That's when dispatch came up with a way for Buck to be able to hear the man.

"This is captain 118. Be advised. We are conducting a targeted sound sweep. Fire 1, give us five minutes of breathing room."

"Copy that, Captain."

"Everybody else, hold the work. Radio silent until my call."

Minutes late, everyone's attention turned to Buck and Ravi who were frantically digging.

"Hey, come on! Come on!" Buck shouted for more people to help them dig.

"We got him, Cap! We got him." Buck said after they got the box open.

"Oh, hey, you're home." Rylin looked up and saw Buck standing in the kitchen of her apartment.

"Uhm..."

"Oh, right, I came over to check on Sarah." Buck told her. "I brought Madison over too."

"I mean, I guess that's fine, but why?" Rylin asked.

"Well, I might've overheard Madi talking with Sarah a few weeks ago. She basically confirmed that the last time you spent more than a few hours here, was during the power outage. She's been here all alone." Buck explained.

Rylin truthfully didn't have a response. She just sighed, slightly ashamed of herself.

"Ryles, what's going on with you?" Buck asked her. And when she was going to deny her feelings once again, he cut her off. "Do not say nothing's wrong because there is most definitely something wrong, Rylin."

"Nothing's wrong." Buck sighed at her words.

"Rylin, you haven't slept in your own bed in months. You've either been at my house or Eddie's. You're suddenly all closed off and will hardly talk to me or Sarah. And no, I am not gonna stop asking you about this until you tell me because something clearly happened, and I'm guessing it was the accident."
