Season 3, Episode 12
'Fools'

"Oh. I know that smile." Buck told Maddie. They were currently playing an intense game of poker while Chim and Rylin placed bets on who would win. "Pair of aces."

Maddie smiled as she placed down her deck of cards. "Flush."

Buck groaned once he realized he lost. Rylin groaned too because she had just lost 20 dollars.

"He falls for it everytime." Chim said as he took the 20 dollar bill out of Rylin's hand.

"How does this keep on happening?" Buck asked.

"Because you suck at poker." Josh, Maddie's friend told Buck. "Spoken by someone who also sucks at poker. No judgment, but maybe you should quit while you're behind."

"Wow."

"Who needs more wine?" Maddie asked before heading to the kitchen.

"I'm gonna need something stronger." Buck said.

"Thanks again for having me. This was fun." Josh said to Chim.

"For some of us." Buck whispered.

"Well, all our couple friends were busy, so we figured we would target the solos." Chim said.

"If I didn't know better, I'd say you were setting us up." Josh joked.

"Oh, no, I like you way too much to sey you up with my brother." Maddie said before glancing at Rylin for a moment. "Besides, I have someone else in mind for him."

"Okay, wait. I'm not single." Rylin protested.

Maddie gave her a really? look. "When was the last time you saw Dylan?"

Rylin stuttered. "Okay, so I haven't seen him in a few months. That doesn't mean we aren't together, okay? We... talk and stuff. He's just a little busy."

"Gotcha." Maddie said. No one sitting at the table believed her.

"You know, what. I'll call him right now to prove we're still together." Rylin said, willing to do anything to make them believe her.

Rylin dialed Dylan's number. The call didn't even go through before a message rang through the air. "We're sorry, you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service."

"Huh." Rylin said, slightly confused.

Sure, maybe Maddie wasn't completely wrong. The last time Rylin saw Dylan was about 2 months after he left for his job in Texas. After that visit, their conversations became shorter and when they do talk, they talk about work, and can barely hold a conversation for more than 5 minutes. Rylin did grow suspicious, thinking the worst, but she figured it was best not to worry about it because she trusted her boyfriend.

"Y'know, maybe I typed in his number wrong." Rylin laughed nervously before typing in his phone number again, making sure it was the right one. She dialed, called, and the same message came up again.

Rylin sighed in defeat, embarrassment washing over her face. "Okay, so maybe we haven't been very couple-like lately."
