Returning to the penthouse, the first thing he walked into was Odele talking to Adonis. They looked over to him and greeted him as he was offered a towel by il domestico for his slightly wet hair. Something nearly all of them noticed was that though Kato's light brown roots were covered by the curling of his hair, it was just that: he had curly hair. And his black hair was more of a dark brown. They wondered if it was the light or he was doing something.
"Champ! Coming to the airport tomorrow," Adonis greeted and watched Kato thank the man at the door before resting the towel on his head.
"You will meet me at the airport." He replied - Kato was beginning to revert back to his old way of speech, more eloquent and succinct in his case.
"Why not come with us for free? Or are you taking public transport? Also, how was uni?" Odele nodded with a small, welcoming smile. Bianca left her room and looked at the three,
"Too much testosterone..." she mumbled.
"That's just your father and Saba, honey," Elena giggled as she returned from the kitchen, "I cooked!" She smiled, "join us tonight,"
"Already ate." Kato replied. He never felt so tempted to say yes though, he hadn't had Elena's cooking in a while, and they say that nothing beats the cooking of a mother. But he couldn't: it would probably be haram.
"Anyway, how was university?" Odele repeated,
"You go to uni?" Adonis realised and suddenly considered that all of those days where Kato was absent was because he was catching up or attending university. If he was, why did he elect to be a bodyguard as well?
"No. Wait, oh my God, were you spending time with your dad?" Bianca realised and cupped her face in admiration, she smiled at the thought and giggled. Kato had forgotten that he told Bianca that his dad was a university professor.
Elena looked at Kato and her face fell a little - she wanted him to find his dad but she never got to help, firstly. Secondly, she wanted him to complete his mission but now that the thought had risen, she felt that it was too bittersweet; she felt she hadn't spent enough time with him. She wanted to fix him before he left but he was still the same as ever.
"No." He shook his head but rubbed her head, "I was... tutoring someone." He excused himself more for Elena's sake.
"In what? How are you tutoring university students?" Odele made a face and then reconsidered,
"Maths, idiot." Athena called before leaving the bathroom. Kato looked at her and suddenly remembered something - he went into her room - "what the heck? In front of everyone?" Athena yelped and followed behind him quickly. He didn't know what he was doing in front of everyone, but he picked up the umbrellas still there, "what? Are you going out?" She watched him leave her room and return to the foyer. Odele and Adonis looked at the umbrellas and then to each other.
He broke the umbrellas in front of them and left them there on the floor, they winced and Athena just looked at it.
"So do we get an explanation?" Elena looked at the umbrellas.
"No." Kato stepped on the handle of each and watched them break under his pressure. "Enjoy your trip tomorrow." He added and guided the women and Odele to the dining room. Antonio was already sitting there, waiting for all of them. As a family they sat down and Elena shared a glass of wine with Adonis. Kato went to mind himself elsewhere.
That was: getting the shirts for the girls. He was glad to see Camilla left absolutely no trace of herself in the room, having even changed the sheets. She was observant - she knew absolutely how Kato was thinking. He had a habit of doing it whenever he left anywhere. Almost grim when he went for war, it was like he hadn't existed in the first place.
