After witnessing her parent's brutal murder by the military cops, Katniss Burnedead is taken in by the Scouts, where Erwin sees the potential within her. He assigns her to train under Captain Levi, gradually earning the nickname "Levi's Kid." (stude...
Nigel Burnedead rushed into the room, his face pale and frantic as he addressed his wife, Selena, and their 14-year-old daughter, Katniss.
"Anata, Kat, pack your bags quickly! We need to leave before the military cops get here," he commanded, his voice tight with urgency.
Kat, confused and alarmed, turned to her father. "Why? Why are they after you, Father? What's happening?"
Nigel's expression darkened with sorrow. "I uncovered a traitor's plot within the military. I tried to expose them, but now they want me dead. We need to move fast—the Scouts are coming to help, but we can't wait for them."
With a heavy heart and trembling hands, Kat began packing, tears welling up in her eyes. But just as Nigel opened the door, two military cops appeared, rifles raised and aimed directly at him.
"Where do you think you're going?" one of them sneered. "You were supposed to be one of us. We're family, right? And now you betray us?"
Nigel clicked his tongue in disgust. "A family doesn't betray its own people like you have."
Without hesitation, one of the cops fired, the shot hitting Nigel straight in the heart. Blood splattered across Selena and Kat as Nigel collapsed, lifeless, at their feet. Kat stood frozen, her eyes wide in shock, unable to process what had just happened.
One of the cops grabbed Selena by the hair, yanking her down, pressing his palm against her face with brutal force. "Tell us where your husband hid the evidence," he demanded, his voice dripping with malice.
Selena, refusing to give in, spat, "Go to hell. I'm not telling you anything."
The cop's face twisted in rage. "Then die."
Selena's eyes flicked toward Kat, her voice breaking as she screamed, "RUN, KAT! RUN AND DON'T LOOK BACK!"
Kat's heart shattered. "Papa...Mama..." she whispered, her voice trembling as tears streamed down her face.
"Get the girl!" one of the cops barked.
With her mother's desperate plea echoing in her ears, Kat ran. Her legs burned, her breath came in ragged gasps, but she didn't stop. She couldn't. The sound of a gunshot exploded behind her, making her chest tighten with unbearable fear.

"Mama..." she sobbed, her tears blurring the path ahead as she ran, faster than she ever had before.
Kat dashed through the woods, her legs aching with exhaustion, barely able to breathe as she escaped the nightmare unfolding behind her. The shadows of the military cops followed her every step. She didn't know how far she had run, but soon she found herself stumbling into an old, abandoned dungeon. Her heart pounded as she slipped inside, hoping she had enough time to hide.
The only light came from the faint yellow glow spilling in through the cracked door. Her breath hitched as she crouched behind a stack of wooden crates, trying to make herself as small as possible. She squeezed her eyes shut, willing herself to stay silent, praying the cops wouldn't find her.

But then, through the crack in the door, a shadow appeared, moving in the dim light. Kat's pulse quickened. Though she was hidden, the shadow continued to creep closer, as if it knew exactly where she was. She pressed a trembling hand over her mouth, trying to stifle her panicked breathing.
Suddenly, a voice cut through the stillness. "You can come out now."
Her entire body froze. Fear gripped her, but she forced herself to act. Grabbing a large flower vase nearby, Kat lunged from her hiding place. Without thinking, she hurled the vase at the figure standing in the light.

The vase shattered against the chest of a tall man with short, sandy-yellow hair, but he didn't flinch. She gritted her teeth, anger and fear twisting inside her. "You bastards can go to hell!" she shouted, her voice raw with emotion.
Before the man could respond, Kat sprinted toward the window on the far side of the dungeon. With a desperate leap, she crashed through the glass, shards cutting into her skin as she tumbled out and hit the ground hard. She winced, forcing herself up, but as she struggled to her feet, a sudden force descended from above.
A shadow loomed over her. She barely had time to raise her head before a raven-haired figure dropped down from the top of the building. The impact was devastating—his foot slammed into her face, sending her flying back with brutal force. The world around her spun as she crashed into a distant wall, her body crumpling to the ground.
Pain coursed through her, but she was too disoriented to cry out. Her vision blurred, and the edges of her consciousness began to fade. The last thing she saw before darkness claimed her was the raven-haired man approaching, his cold eyes locked on her limp form.
