Early the next morning, just as Levi had instructed the night before, Kat arrived at the training grounds by 8 AM. The air was crisp, and the grounds felt quiet, an unsettling calm hanging over them. Kat stood there, nervously watching Levi as he approached. She could feel the weight of whatever was about to happen hanging over her.

Trying to gather her courage, Kat hesitantly asked, "What are we going to train on today?"

Levi's response was direct, almost harsh. "I want you to fight me."

Kat's eyes widened in shock, her voice faltering. "F... fight... you?" she stammered, disbelief creeping into her words.

"It's not like you are gonna win, but I want to check your strength," Levi replied.

Without missing a beat, Levi reached into his shirt and pulled out a chain necklace.

It bore the emblem of the Wings of Freedom, a symbol that gleamed softly in the morning light

It bore the emblem of the Wings of Freedom, a symbol that gleamed softly in the morning light. "This necklace," Levi said, "was made by Petra's father as a gift to all my squad members, including me."

He held the necklace for a moment before placing it back inside his shirt. His gaze was fixed on Kat, his tone unreadable. "Here's the deal," he continued. "You have four hours, from 8 to 12, to take this necklace from my neck."

Kat stared at him, processing the challenge. Four hours? To steal a necklace from him?

"If you succeed, you get to eat lunch," Levi added, a slight smirk tugging at his lips. "If you don't... 50 laps around the training grounds."

He paused, raising an eyebrow at her. "What do you say?"

Kat bit her lip, frustration bubbling beneath the surface. What do I say? she thought to herself. As if I actually have a choice. She let out a small sigh of defeat, a low tsk escaping her lips — a gesture she had unknowingly picked up from him.

Her eyes flickered back to the necklace hidden under his shirt. The task seemed impossible. How could she, someone so inexperienced, possibly stand a chance against Levi? He was the most skilled soldier in all of humanity. But as impossible as it felt, she knew she had no choice.

I have to try, she thought to herself, a small spark of determination igniting in her chest.

As the clock started ticking and the first few minutes passed, Kat stood frozen, her mind racing with doubt. Her eyes darted toward Levi, who appeared completely composed, as though this entire challenge was beneath him. He didn't even take a fighting stance; he merely crossed his arms, waiting for her first move.

This is impossible, Kat thought, her heart pounding in her chest. But she knew she couldn't back down. Levi's challenge wasn't just about strength—it was about testing her spirit, her resolve. Without warning, Kat made her move.
