A few months had passed since Katniss Burnedead first donned the ODM gear. Under Levi's rigorous and often unforgiving training, she had grown into a strong and capable member of the Scout Regiment. The once timid, unsure trainee now moved with precision and purpose. Every sharp maneuver in the field, every decision under pressure—it all reflected the principles Levi had instilled in her. His teachings were not easy to endure, but Kat embraced every challenge, knowing that with each bruising day, she was becoming stronger, faster, and smarter.

Her bond with the squad members deepened as well. Levi's squad had grown fond of her, respecting her determination and unwavering commitment. Though Kat was still soft-spoken, her quiet confidence drew people in, and she became someone they could rely on in difficult situations.

Even Levi had opened up—though only slightly. He was still the stoic, disciplined captain, but Kat noticed the small ways he treated her differently now. He spoke to her more often, offering short words of advice or critique during training. Though his manner remained reserved, there were moments when he seemed to regard her as one of his own—a member of his trusted squad. The subtle acknowledgment from Levi filled her with pride, knowing she had earned his respect.

One afternoon, as the sun hung high over the training grounds, Levi approached her with his usual directness. "Kat," he called out, catching her attention.

She looked up from her gear maintenance, wiping her hands on her trousers. "Yes, Heichou?"

"I need you to purchase a few supplies for the Scouts. Go downtown," he said, holding out a small list. His tone was as curt as always, but Kat could tell he trusted her to handle this without question.

Without hesitation, she nodded. "Understood."

Kat took the list from Levi. It was the first time he had entrusted her with such a task alone, besides the regular training. "I'll be quick, Heichou!" she promised.

"Make sure you are," Levi replied, his gaze sharp. "And don't get distracted. We need those supplies for the upcoming mission." With that, he turned away, already focused on his next task.

As she made her way downtown, Kat couldn't help but feel giddy. The sun was shining, the air was fresh, and the bustling market was alive with chatter. She waved at familiar faces as she passed by, the warmth of the community embracing her. "Oh, hello, Linda-san!" she called to a merchant, who waved back cheerfully. "Hello, Patrick-kun!"

But her cheerful demeanor was short-lived. Just as she rounded a corner, a piercing scream shattered the market's vibrancy. Kat's heart sank as she whipped around to see an old man being hoisted off the ground by a figure clad in a long black cape.

"Help! Somebody help!" the old man cried, panic evident in his voice.

Kat's instincts kicked in. "Not on my watch!" she shouted, her breath quickening as she activated her ODM gear. The figure in the cape was using ODM gear too, darting away from the crowd with the old man in tow.
