Kat followed Levi to an unknown destination, her curiosity intensifying with each step. People around them acknowledged Levi's presence with respect, greeting him with repeated, "Good evening, Levi Heichou." Kat pondered this new information: Heichou? Oh, he must be a Captain of the Scouts... But why would a captain be assigned to train someone like me? Why wouldn't the commander assign another scout instead?

Carefully, she broke the silence as they walked, Levi striding ahead with his back to her.

"Ano... Where are we going?" she asked hesitantly.

Levi replied without turning around, "To my squad's personal training grounds."

Kat hesitated for a moment before nervously bombarding him with questions. "What are the Scouts? Who are the military cops? How many walls are there? Are there terrifying Titans outside the walls?"

Levi let out an irritated tsk and responded, "I'm not answering any of that right now. I doubt you'll even make it outside the walls. I'll train you for just a few months, and if Erwin still believes you have potential after that, then I'll consider answering your questions. Now, can I expect some silence until we arrive?"

Kat lowered her head, as she complied with his request for quiet

Kat lowered her head, as she complied with his request for quiet. "Hmm..." she murmured softly.

As they reached the training grounds, a few other Scout members came into view, their faces lighting up with excitement as they welcomed Levi.

"Levi Heichou! How did the mission go? Did you manage to save Mr. Nigel-san? Have we uncovered the conspiracy of the military cops?"

Suddenly, Levi raised his hand, signaling for silence. Kat's heart sank as she realized what they were asking about. Levi turned to her and said, "Meet my squad members."

One by one, they introduced themselves.

"Hi, I'm Oluo Bozado."
"I'm Petra Ral."
"Eld Jinn here."
"Hi, I'm Gunther Schultz."

Finally, feeling a bit shy, Kat stepped forward and introduced herself. "Hi, I'm Katniss Burnedead...You can call me Kat. Yoresuku ne."

Gunther's eyes widened slightly as he processed her last name. Burnedead? Nigel san's daughter? The revelation lingered in his mind, casting a new light on their current situation.

Levi continued, "The headquarters you see here is actually the Old Scouts Regiment Headquarters, but now it's exclusively used by me and my squad

Levi continued, "The headquarters you see here is actually the Old Scouts Regiment Headquarters, but now it's exclusively used by me and my squad. All squad meetings, gatherings, discussions, and training sessions take place here, apart from the main area for all the Scouts."

He gestured toward the entryway. "That's the entrance. Make your way to the second floor, three doors from the left. That will be your room."

Oluo chimed in, "I'll leave her there..."

Levi shot him a mock glare. "She's old enough to find her way. Besides, I need you all here right now."

Oluo nodded, an irritation on his face. "Yes, Heichou."

With that, Kat gathered her belongings and made her way up the staircase, glancing back at Levi and his squad as they chatted amongst themselves. The weight of the day still hung over her, but a flicker of determination ignited within her as she stepped onto the second floor. She took a deep breath, feeling both nervous and excited.

In the meantime, Levi explained their current situation with Kat to his squad members, discussing his conversation with Erwin. Petra, filled with excitement, chimed in, "Yosh! Finally, another female member!"

Levi, however, quickly warned her, "She isn't permanent yet. Limit the information you provide her."

The three nodded in acknowledgment, understanding the gravity of the situation. Levi then ordered them to return to their previous tasks, ensuring that everyone remained focused.

As Levi made his way to the second floor, he reached the second door just as Kat emerged from her room. Their eyes met, and Levi, visibly annoyed, asked, "What is it now?"

Kat hesitated for a moment before shyly replying, "Oh, nothing. It's just something to do with Petra." She needed toilet paper but how could she admit it directly to Levi.

Levi nodded, his expression unreadable. "This second room is mine," he stated matter of fact. "Knock if you need something... but only knock if you know you will die without it."

His words left no room for misunderstanding, and Kat couldn't help but smile nervously, feeling a mix of relief and apprehension about her new life ahead.

Kat met up with Petra shortly after, eager to discuss everything she needed for her new living situation. "I really need toilet paper," she began, her cheeks flushing slightly. "And a room freshener, too. This place feels a bit moldy since it's been closed for so long."

Petra nodded enthusiastically, taking the opportunity to chit-chat with Kat. "Don't worry, we'll get you sorted out! I remember my first few days here. It can be overwhelming, but we're all here to help." As they talked, Kat began to feel more comfortable around Petra, the warmth of her personality putting her at ease.

After a bit of casual conversation, Kat shifted the topic. "Is Levi-san scary?"

Petra's expression turned serious as she replied, "It's 'Heichou,' don't call him 'san.' No one does." Kat blinked in confusion, unsure of how to respond.

Petra continued, her tone lightening again. "Is he scary? No, not really. He just doesn't talk much and has a lot on his mind. But if you trigger him... well, yes, he can be scary." She wiggled her fingers playfully, imitating a spooky gesture that made Kat chuckle.

"Just remember to tread carefully," Petra added with a grin. "You'll get used to him, I promise. And once you do, he's actually a pretty decent guy—if you can get past the scary exterior."

Petra continued, "Now that we're on the topic of routines, food is served at exactly 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. You have until 7:30 to eat, or you'll miss out—the only exceptions being meetings and missions. Lunch is from 1:00 to 1:30, and if you miss that, you'll be out of luck as well." She leaned in closer, emphasizing her point. "Training is not an exception. So remember to wrap up whatever you're doing before time if you want to eat!"

With that, Petra smiled and left Kat to freshen up. Alone in her new room, Kat took a deep breath and sank onto her bed. She gulped, realizing the weight of her situation. From here on, life was only going to get harder.

As she thought about the strict schedules and intense training ahead, a mix of anxiety and determination coursed through her. She couldn't afford to let herself fall behind—not now, not after everything she had lost.

Her thoughts drifted to Levi. He was intimidating, no doubt, but there was something about him that intrigued her. Despite his stern demeanor, she could sense a hidden strength and commitment to his squad. Would he ever accept her in his squad? Would he ever see her as more than just a burden?

She pondered this question while unpacking her belongings, her heart racing at the thought of training under him. If she could prove herself, maybe he would warm up to her. Maybe, she could earn his respect. With renewed resolve, she finished organizing her things, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
