Four months had passed since the squad began practicing the Electrified Tree Net Trap, but despite their relentless efforts, failure had become their constant companion. Day after day, month after month, they struggled to synchronize their movements, the chaos of five members working together proving too overwhelming.
On multiple occasions, heads collided, and bodies tumbled from heights of 20 meters, resulting in bruised egos and sore muscles. Even when they successfully cast the web, the trap was often too loose to ensnare a Titan properly. It was a source of immense frustration, especially for Levi.
During lunch break, Levi's patience finally snapped. His voice echoed through the clearing, laced with disappointment and anger.
"Nanishterio! What the hell are you all doing?" He glared at his squad, his piercing gaze making them shrink back. "We're officially in our last month of training, and you still haven't gotten this trap working!"
The air felt charged with tension as he continued, his words sharp as blades. "Are you all dumb? Do you think other members of the Scouts would take this long? They'd have figured it out by now! Are you taking this lightly just because we're the Special Operations Squad?"
Each accusation felt like a dagger, the weight of his words pressing down on them. "Don't make me regret choosing you guys as my members. You're wasting precious time, and if you can't work together now, how do you expect to survive in battle?"
They sat in silence, his scolding brutal enough to make them feel as though they were on the verge of tears. Yet they held their heads high, refusing to let him see their weakness. Levi's eyes softened momentarily, revealing the genuine care hidden beneath his harsh exterior. He knew the truth: he needed to push them hard, for their own survival.
He thought, They may hate me for life, but if that's what it takes to keep them alive, then fine. Let me be the villain in their eyes.
"Get back to it! I don't want to see any of you sitting around. You know what you need to do!"
As they dispersed, each member felt the weight of his disappointment. They were determined to prove him wrong, but the question loomed in the back of their minds: would they be able to overcome their struggles and become the squad Levi believed they could be?

Another few weeks passed, and they were officially in the mid of their last month of training. Although their previous attempts had ended in failure, each setback brought them closer to understanding what went wrong, ensuring they wouldn't repeat those mistakes.
Today, however, felt different for every member, and Levi sensed it too. There was an energy in the air, a promise of success lingering just beyond their grasp.
