Kat's heart raced as she darted through the streets of Wall Rose, her mind a whirl of confusion and worry. The titan attack had subsided, and orders had been given for all scouts to regroup inside the safety of the walls. But Levi and his squad still hadn't returned.

Where are they? Kat thought frantically, her eyes scanning the crowd of soldiers and civilians alike. She was met with a sea of unfamiliar faces, but none that she recognized as her comrades. The streets were bustling with chaos and recovery efforts—children crying, mothers holding their loved ones, and soldiers gathering information. But no sign of Levi, Erwin, or her squadmates.

Her steps quickened, her breath shallow with mounting anxiety. Why haven't they come back yet? Did something happen? Did they— She shook her head, not wanting to entertain that thought. Levi was strong. So was Erwin. If anything had gone wrong, she would have known, right?

She tried to focus, weaving through the crowds, her mind replaying Levi's last orders. "Eliminate any incoming titans and help civilians move toward the inner gates." She'd done that. She'd fought, she'd saved a child as well.

Her hand subconsciously reached up to the small cut on her cheek from the gunshot earlier. That man. The one with the hat. Who is he? She hadn't had time to think, to process everything that had happened. But now, as she frantically searched for her squad, a heavy sense of dread gnawed at her gut.

On the other side of Wall Rose, Levi's boots landed softly on the ground as his squad descended from the top of the walls. His face was as unreadable as ever, though his mind was racing. The Titans had been dealt with, but one thing was still eating away at him—Kat hadn't returned.

The rest of his squad gathered behind him, awaiting orders. He glanced at them briefly before his eyes flicked back to the city streets. "Scatter," he ordered, his voice cool and commanding. "Find Burnedead. Confirm she made it back inside the walls."

They all nodded, none of them daring to question his urgency. Levi, as usual, maintained a calm exterior, but his sharp eyes betrayed a flicker of concern. The squad dispersed immediately, blending into the crowd as they began their search.

Levi didn't wait. He moved through the crowd himself, his gaze sharp and unrelenting. He approached regiment members, civilians—anyone who might have seen her.

"Have you seen a scout with a black ponytail? Short? Goes by Burnedead?" he asked one of the other soldiers. The response was a shake of the head, a wordless "no."

Levi's frown deepened. He asked another, then another, but all the answers were the same. No one had seen her. Tch. His frustration grew. He'd ordered Kat, like the rest of his squad, to handle the incoming titans and help civilians. So how could it be that no one had seen her?

Where has she been? he wondered, his mind racing. She was capable, yes, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.

After what felt like hours of searching, his eyes finally landed on a figure ahead. He recognized the black ponytail instantly. His heart gave a slight jolt of relief. There she was, alive and unharmed. She seemed to be searching for someone too, her eyes scanning the area much like his own had been moments before.

Levi's pace quickened, his usual stoic demeanor softening ever so slightly with relief. Atleast she made it back alive.

"Oye, Baka," he called out from a few paces away.

No response.

"Burnedead," he called again, this time louder, but still no response.

Levi's brows furrowed as he closed the distance between them. He was no more than a meter away now. "Kat," he said, his voice firm.
