I glance at the kids as I leave school and spot Emma and Mia. I move forward, eager to pass them and head home...

Suddenly, I hear Emma shout, "It was my first kiss! Some idiot took it from me!" She turns around.

Her eyes meet mine, and I'm left stunned.

Her first kiss? I think to myself, still staring.

"What was what?" I ask.

"My first kiss, you idiot!" she retorts, glaring at me.

I look at her, completely at a loss for words.

"Is she telling the truth?" I ask Mia, who shoots me an angry look.

"You've ruined everything!" she exclaims, locking her gaze onto me. "Why did she do that?"

"I insulted her mom," I admit, and Mia stares at me, serious as ever.

"You've completely shattered her! Are you happy now? Happy that you insulted her dead parents and took her first kiss? You've hurt her badly! I hope you're proud of yourself."

"Who?" I ask, still unable to process what's happening.

She shakes her head in disbelief and walks away...

"You really messed up, my friend," Scott says.

"Dude, I had no idea!"

"Did she do this to you?"

I look at him.

"Heavy-handed, huh?"

I raise an eyebrow. "You like Emma, Scott?"

He meets my gaze. "She's fine."

"Yeah, but BE CAREFUL," I warned him.

"Whoa, someone's got a crush."

"Funny, now that I'm the one messing with her, you want to be friends?"

"Why not? Let's provoke her at the party next week."

"Don't even think about it!" I say, getting up from the couch.

"Whatever you say!" he replies, reclining back.

Don't be fooled by Scott,he may seem like a good kid, but he's not...

I won't let him hurt her.                                                                                                                                                  Did she never have a boyfriend before?

Lost in thought, while I hear Scott calling me.

"Hey! Where are you off to?"

"Nothing, just thinking," I replied.

"I see Emma's got us all tangled up..."

"What are you talking about?"

"Just what I see."

"Shut up with your nonsense."

I head to the door and leave... I'm pissed of  for letting her distract me so much.

How can such a girl never have moved on, in her life? I didn't say anything to Scott because I knew how he'd react, and it would spread throughout the school...

I got home, opened the door, and steped inside.

"Where have you been all this time?" my mom asks, looking at me.

"Like you care..." I reply, heading upstairs to my room.

I lie on my bed, scrolling through my phone. The door swings open without a knock.

Of course, who else?My mom...

"What do you want? Why didn't you knock??" I shout.

"First, lower your voice. Second, you need to stop treating me like this. I haven't done anything wrong!"

"Hmm, the fact that you're with just going with mans everyday , and soon you'll have a bad reputation—yeah, that's why I'm treating you this way. Why can't you be a normal mother like everyone else?"

"Watch your tongue. I gave everything to raise you, and this is how you repay me?!"

"Everything to raise me?You just see me as a responsibility! You didn't care when I got hit by a car. You didn't even come to the hospital! You've always treated me like a duty!"                                                   I shout at her withe anger.

I don't regret the words I've said, she never cared about me. I got hit by a car, and she didn't even check on me—didn't come to the hospital. I was always just an obligation to her. Ever since she divorced my dad, everything has gone wrong in her.Dating a different man every day, bringing them home, and then dumping them.

"You know very well I would give my life for you! You're my only child! I couldn't help but care for you. I love you so much! I want to make things right, but you won't let me."

"And I will never let you! Now get out of my room!"

She looks at me, sadness in her eyes.

"Just go!" I yell, and she exits, closing the door behind her.

I stare at the door, rise from my bed, and walk to the balcony...

I simply gaze at the sky. Looking down the street, I see someone passing by—I'm sure it's Emma.

I fix my gaze on her. She stops for a moment, pulls out her phone, and begins talking, glancing around...

For a brief moment, our eyes lock. She recognizes me but quickly shifts her gaze and walks on...

I take one last look before heading back into my room, lie down, and settle in with my phone...

The doorbell rings insistently. I get up, descend the stairs, and open the door...

Her expression freezes as she stares at me, unable to find her voice.

What is she doing here?
