*POV LUCAS*
"What happened, man? Did she reject you for the second time, or did we mishear with the guys?" I say, laughing uncontrollably."Will you all just shut up!" He looks at us angrily and then watches her walk away."She won't get away from me."
"Yeah, right. If anyone's going to change their mind, it'll be her. She'll have you wrapped around her finger." I smile.
"We'll see about that." He looks at me.
"Just make sure you know what you're doing." I tell him as I walk forward with the others. Of course, the guys can't say anything because they know that if I get mad, no one will walk out of here in one piece.
■ MORNING ■
I wake up at 8:10 AM, quickly get dressed, head to the bathroom, put on my shoes, and leave.I walk into school, and everyone is whispering and staring at me strangely.
Yeah, yeah, I know I'm a god, but come on, don't jinx me with all this attention.I walk over to my group and see only Peter there.
"Don't get mad!" He tells me, looking nervous.
"For what?" I ask, and he shows me his phone—a picture of me kissing Emma.
"Who sent you this?" I ask, already furious. The caption on the picture reads, "Beauty and the Beast together, new developments."
"The whole school got it. It was sent from Emma's phone." Peter says, and that's when I completely lose it.
I storm into class to look for Emma, but she's not there.I go back outside to the yard, and Peter follows me.
"Lucas, calm down! Stop it!" He tells me, but I ignore him, heading straight for the courtyard.
I spot her walking and immediately grab her hand tightly, staring at her angrily. She's startled and looks at me.
"Lucas, what's wrong?" She asks with an innocent expression.I push her against the wall with force.
"Did you do this?" I ask, showing her the photo.
She looks at it, shocked."What is this? Where did you find it?" She asks, looking confused.
"You don't know?"
"Of course not! Are you crazy?" She yells.
"Shut up! You sent this to the whole school. Look!" I show her it was sent from her profile, and she looks even more confused.
"What? How?"
"Stop pretending you don't know anything, you're making me angrier!"
"Lucas, I swear I didn't do this." She says, placing her hands on mine.I look at her and smile sarcastically.
"Get your dirty hands off me. Don't touch me." I tell her, and she looks like she's about to cry.
"Your tears won't work on me, little girl."
"Lucas, I didn't do it! What part of that don't you understand?" She shouts.
"Shut up! Stop lying!" I yell, losing my patience, grabbing her throat tightly, and slamming her harder against the wall. "If you ever come near me again, you better find a hole to hide in. You won't get away next time, I promise."
"You're hurting me! Let go!" She pleads, looking at me.
"When you hurt those who trusted you, they'll hurt you back. Mark my words." I let her go and walk away.
*POV EMMA*
He lets me go, and I hold my neck, watching him walk away.My cheeks are red from crying, and my neck has the marks from his hand.I sit down until I can calm down, staring at him as he leaves.
I didn't do anything, damn it! Whoever did this, I swear I'll make them regret it.I get up and head back to class. The teacher looks at my neck, about to ask something.
"I have allergies." I say, sitting down. I glance over at Lucas. He doesn't even look at me.I sit at my desk and try to focus on my book. The bell rings for break, and everyone goes outside.I stay inside.Lucas' group comes into the class. They look at me, then at him.Lucas looks at them but stays silent.
*POV LUCAS*
"What's going on?" Scott asks.
"Nothing... yet. It's about to start."
"And if she's telling the truth?"
"The message came from her phone, Peter!"
"You were kissing! How could she have done it?"
"I don't know, but she probably had someone else do it."
"For the hundredth time, I'm telling you, I didn't do it, damn it!" She tries talking to me, but I ignore her.
The bell rings, and we all head back to class. She stands up and manages to leave before the teacher comes in
.*POV EMMA*
"Peter!" I shout, and he turns to look at me."I didn't do it."
"I know, you don't seem like that kind of person."
"Why doesn't he believe me?"
"Because he's stubborn. We can't reason with him, sweetie."
"Has he always been like this?"
"Always, though it's worse now. He could've killed you, but I don't know why he didn't lash out as much as usual."
"He can't do anything to me because he trusts me, and I trust him. I know that deep down, he wanted to believe me."
"That's still saying something." He glances at my neck.
"I don't hold it against him."
"Deep down, he's a good guy. He just needs trust, and it seemed like you two had reached that point." Peter says, winking playfully.
"No, don't even go there. That kiss happened by accident."
