"Emma, where the hell have you been? I've been looking for you all over school!"
I start crying so hard on him...He looks surprised and stares at me.
"EMMA, WHAT HAPPENED?"
He says, seeing me suffer from my tears. I haven't cried like this since my parents...
I've completely collapsed."He's an idiot! I hate him! I never want to see him again in my life!"
I say, and he looks at me sadly."It's all one f***ing trick, the love, the promises he always makes!"
He looks at me as if he expected it, he doesn't know what to say."I don't want to see him in my eyes again! If I see him, I'll smash his face!"
I tell him."And you should!"
He replies, trying to calm me down.I call my aunt.
× "Aunt, what are you doing?"
× "Is something wrong, Emma?"
× "When will I be able to come home?"
× "In four more days, we're done."
× "Aunt, can I go to a friend's house to sleep?"
× "What do you mean, Emma? Why?"
× "Well, his parents are away, and he wants company and invited me..."
× "Okay, I'll talk to Lucas's mom."
× "No need, I'm already there. I'll tell her myself."
× "Alright, call me later."
She says, and I hang up.Austin looks at me.
Yes, we agreed I'd stay with him. He rents his house and lives alone, so I can go and stay there with him...We're already at Lucas's house, in the room where I slept.
We start packing my things.
After 20 minutes, we're done...We go to the living room.
"Are you sure, my girl?"
Lucas's mom asks me, looking concerned."Yes."
I reply, and she sighs."Did something happen between you and Lucas that you're not telling us?"
As soon as I hear Lucas's name, I shudder and get lost in my own world again."Um, no. I'm just going to stay with Austin; he'll be alone in the house and wants company."
I answer, and she looks at us both."We need to go, we'll talk again."
I tell her, hugging her and thanking her for her hospitality."Whenever you want, come and see us, the door is always open for you, my Emma."
I nod positively. We go outside and head toward Austin's car.
"Thank you so much, Austin."
I tell him, and he smiles."Don't mention it, Emma. I wouldn't leave you like this."
He says as we get into the car and he starts the engine...
POV: Lucas
I've been at Lydia's house for a while now. I'm bored, so I get ready to go home.
She looks at me, pouting.
"Are you leaving already? Aren't we going for another round?""I have to go home,"
I reply bluntly."Is she there?"
She asks."Listen, you got your air, I've told you about Emma; don't talk like that!"
"What happened, Lucas? Did we fall for her too?"
"You're an idiot; it can't be explained otherwise."
"Then why are you protecting her when you set up a whole scheme?"
"Let me tell you! Mind your business! I'll do what I want!"
"Yeah, that's why you asked for my help, huh?"
"You helped me, thanks, now shut up!"
I say, standing up and leaving.
I get into my car and head home.
Emma's words before unsettled me, it felt like she truly hates me...
But I know she can't hate me, that's not in her character...I park the car, get out, close the door, and walk toward the house. I walk in and see my mom getting ready for work.
"Hi, Lucas."
"Hi,"
I say, knowing and going to the room where Emma slept.
I open the door and see no one inside; the bed is made, the drawers empty without her clothes.
What the hell?I go back to the living room.
"Mom, where's Emma?"
"She left to go to a friend's."
"And her stuff? Why is it missing?"
"You didn't understand, she's staying there temporarily."
"WHAT? WHO?"
"With an Austin, I think that's what they called the kid."
Oh, that bastard...
So you didn't want me, Emma.
Then why did you leave?"She left really quickly, did something happen between you two?"
My mom asks, looking at me scrutinizingly."No, leave me alone!"
I yell and head to my room!!!You think because you left, you'll escape? Don't worry, we go to the same school, no one escapes from Lucas...
You wanted to get involved with me from the start, do you think I would fall for you?
No, no, it doesn't work that way.
In my game, I set my own rules, and if you don't follow them, we won't get along...The game starts tomorrow, be ready, Emma...
Don't start cursing me, do you think I'd suddenly like her?
She might have a nice crowd, but she still remains a buzzkill...
