Since I got to Lucas's house, we haven't talked at all. I've just stayed in the room, talking to Austin and Mia...

MORNING

I get up to get ready for school...
Today is gym class, so let's see what I'll wear.

I take these out and grab a white hoodie.

I put them on and leave my hair the way it looks in the photo

I put them on and leave my hair the way it looks in the photo...
I head to the living room.
I see Lucas sitting on his phone.

"You finally woke up?"
He says while still looking at his phone.

"Yeah,"
I answer dryly.

I walk into the kitchen and pour myself a glass of water.
I feel his eyes on me, so I turn my head and look at him.

"Got a problem?"
I ask, and he just looks at me.

"N-no..."
He says, turning his head back to his phone.

Yeah, right, like I don't know he was checking out my body! NO WAY.

POV LUCAS

I wake up, put on my sweatpants with a hoodie and a white t-shirt underneath...
Gym day.

POV LUCAS

I sit on the couch, waiting for Emma to wake up.
After a few minutes, I hear the door to her room open.
She must be up now.
I don't pay much attention, as I'm chatting with Lydia.

"You finally woke up,"
I say without taking my eyes off my phone.

"Yes,"
She answers dryly.

She's starting to annoy me already this morning...

I turn my head to look at her, and my gaze locks on her.
She looks so hot in what she's wearing...
Typical for her style.

She turns and catches me looking.
"Got a problem?"
She asks, staring at me.

Feeling awkward, I freeze.
"N-no..."
I reply, looking back at my phone.

Yeah, she definitely noticed...

~ Of course, she noticed, idiot, she's not stupid.
Are you starting with this again?

"Ready to go, Emma?"
I ask, and she looks at me, raising an eyebrow.

"You can go."
She says, looking at me.

"You're not coming with me?"

"Obviously not."
She says, checking her phone.

I stare at her like an idiot. What does she mean?
How's she going to get to school? It's far from here.

"And how exactly are you going to get there?"
I ask, still confused.

"I'll walk,"
She says, grabbing her bag and walking out of the house.

Is she serious? She must be crazy...
Whatever, let her do what she wants, I don't care...

I sit for another five minutes before heading outside myself.
I get in the car, start the engine, and after a little while, I see Emma.
I stop and look at her through the window.

"Maybe you should stop being stubborn and just get in the car,"
I say seriously.

"No."
She replies bluntly and starts to cross the street, putting her headphones in.
I quickly get out of the car and pull her back onto the sidewalk.

A car passes by, honking.
She looks at me, having fallen into my arms, hugging me out of fear.

"Are you stupid? Didn't you see the car?"
I yell, and she looks at me.

"This is your fault!"
She shouts back.

"My fault? For what exactly?"

"If you hadn't stopped and distracted me, this wouldn't have happened."

"Yeah, sure, blame it on me. At least I came out to make sure you didn't get hit!"
I shout while she pulls away from me.

"YOU SHOULD HAVE LEFT ME ALONE! Sorry for making you feel obligated! You can go now!"
She screams and glares at me.

"Do you even hear yourself?"
I ask in disbelief.

"Yes, perfectly well, actually. And now, excuse me, I have to get to school."
She says, walking away.

I watch her angrily...
I sigh and follow behind her, picking her up in my arms as she gets startled.

"If you won't come willingly, then I'll make you."

"Lucas, put me down now!"

"I'll put you down when we get to the car."
I carry her to the car, put her in the passenger seat, and go to my side.
She tries to open the door, but I lock it.

"Open the door right now!"

"No, and put your seatbelt on."

"Lucas, open the door NOW!"
She yells.

"Fine."
I say, reaching over to buckle her seatbelt.
Our faces get close as I do it, and she glares at me.

"You're such an idiot, don't you hear what I'm saying?!"

"I don't care."
I respond, starting the car.

"Idiot,"
She whispers, but I hear it and laugh sarcastically.

"I heard that."

"I don't care."
She mocks and looks out the window.

We arrive at school, and she quickly gets out and walks toward the building.
I lock the car and rush after her.

I grab her by the hand...
"Don't make a scene with me, understand?"

"Leave me alone, Lucas!"

"Control yourself."

"Or what? You'll lie to me again and pretend you care about me? Go ahead. You'll hit me? Do it. You'll threaten to hurt me the worst way possible? You don't need to because you already have."
She says, looking at me, furious.
I've never seen Emma this mad before...
But I kind of like it...

"Now let me go to my class."
She says, pulling her hand away and walking into school.

The bell rings, and I head to class too.
I see her sitting with Mia, talking...

You won't get away with this, Emma. You've got three more days at my place, and I'm not going to let this go.
I think she's gotten a little too comfortable and is running her mouth now, but don't worry, I'll shut it soon enough.
