The next few days passed in a haze for Y/N. She couldn't stop thinking about Bakugou's words, the way he had looked at her, the raw intensity of that moment between them. It felt like something had shifted inside her, something she wasn't sure she was ready to face.

You're not weak. You've just been letting that fear control you for too long.

His words echoed in her mind constantly. Y/N had always prided herself on being in control, on keeping her emotions—and her quirk—tightly contained. But with Bakugou, everything felt different. He saw through her walls, challenged her in ways that no one else had. And despite how much it infuriated her, she couldn't deny the truth in his words.

The next training session had arrived faster than she anticipated. Y/N stood at the edge of the training grounds, her hands fidgeting with the gloves she'd already pulled on. Today was another paired combat exercise, and Aizawa-sensei was walking through the group, calling out teams.

Bakugou was across the field, looking as intense as ever, his eyes sharp and ready for battle. Y/N's heart did a strange flip at the sight of him. She had to get a grip on herself. This was Bakugou—the last person she should feel anything toward besides rivalry and irritation.

But that tension between them—ever since that night—had only grown stronger. It was like a constant undercurrent, buzzing just beneath the surface, threatening to break free every time they crossed paths.

"Sero, you're with Bakugou again."

Aizawa's voice snapped her out of her thoughts. Her stomach dropped. Of course. It had to be him.

She took a steadying breath and made her way across the field. Bakugou was waiting for her, his usual smirk in place, but there was something different in his eyes. Something that made Y/N's pulse quicken.

"Hope you're ready to actually fight this time," he said, crossing his arms.

Y/N rolled her eyes, but a smile tugged at her lips. "I didn't know you were so desperate for a challenge."

Bakugou's smirk deepened, and for a moment, it almost felt... comfortable. As if the usual sharp edges between them had softened, just slightly.

"Don't hold back," he said, his voice dropping an octave, his eyes locking onto hers with that same intense gaze that made her heart pound. "No excuses this time."

Y/N swallowed, feeling that familiar fire building inside her. She wasn't sure if it was anger or something else entirely, but whatever it was, it was strong. She could feel it simmering beneath her skin, waiting to be unleashed.

The match began with a bang—literally. Bakugou wasted no time, blasting forward with a powerful explosion as they charged toward their opponents, Todoroki and Momo. Y/N followed closely behind, her mind racing as she tried to focus on the fight, but Bakugou's presence was overwhelming.

Todoroki immediately countered with a wall of ice, blocking Bakugou's advance. Y/N darted to the side, using her quirk to send a shockwave that shattered part of the ice, giving Bakugou an opening.
