The moon hung high in the night sky, casting a silvery glow over the quiet streets of Musutafu. Y/N had decided to step out for a walk, feeling restless and overwhelmed by the weight of the past week. It had been a whirlwind of emotions since her encounter with the League of Villains, and she found herself searching for some clarity away from the noise of the dorms.
As she wandered through the familiar streets, Y/N thought about her life—her struggles, her victories, and the complicated feelings she had for Bakugou. She wanted to sort through her emotions, to find a sense of peace amidst the chaos. But she also knew that solitude wasn't always the best answer.
Just as she was lost in thought, she turned a corner and bumped right into a familiar figure.
"Y/N! Fancy seeing you here!"
It was Toga, her bubbly demeanor contrasting sharply with the dark surroundings. Behind her stood Dabi and Twice, the trio exuding an aura of mischief and danger.
Y/N's heart raced. "What are you doing here?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.
"Oh, you know, just enjoying the night!" Toga replied, twirling around playfully. "But you? Out alone? That's not safe!"
"I can handle myself, Toga," Y/N said, crossing her arms defensively. "I'm just trying to clear my head."
"Mind if we join you?" Dabi asked, his tone casual but curious. "You seem like you could use some company."
Y/N hesitated, knowing they were technically villains, but the openness in their eyes made her reconsider. "I guess so. Just... let's keep it low-key, alright?"
The group fell into step beside her, and they walked in silence for a few moments, the night air cool against their skin. Toga was the first to break the silence. "So, what's on your mind? You seem... different."
"I've been through a lot," Y/N admitted, looking down at her feet. "And I've been trying to figure out how to move forward."
"Yeah, we get that," Twice chimed in, tilting his head. "Life can really suck sometimes. Especially when you feel stuck."
Dabi nodded, his expression serious. "You can talk to us, you know. We're not all bad."
Y/N glanced at them, seeing a flicker of understanding in their eyes. "It's just... I feel like I have to carry this weight. My past is always there, lurking in the shadows. And I don't know how to let it go."
"Trust me, we know a thing or two about heavy burdens," Dabi replied. "But talking about it helps. You don't have to do it alone."
Y/N stopped walking, turning to face them. "Really? You want to listen?"
"Of course," Toga said, her eyes sparkling with interest. "We want to understand!"
Taking a deep breath, Y/N began to share her story—the toxic relationship that had almost broken her, the struggle to reclaim her sense of self, and the fear that still lingered in her heart. As she spoke, the weight on her shoulders began to lift, the release of emotions flowing freely.
"I never thought I'd feel this way again," Y/N said, her voice trembling. "I thought I was done for, like I'd never be able to escape that pain."
"We've all been there," Dabi said softly. "It's hard to let go. But it's also hard to hold on to pain forever. You need to find a way to forgive yourself for what happened."
"Forgive myself..." Y/N echoed, considering his words. "I've never thought about it that way."
"Yeah! And you deserve happiness!" Toga chimed in, her enthusiasm infectious. "You can be whoever you want to be! Just don't let anyone else decide that for you!"
Y/N felt a sense of camaraderie blooming in the midst of their conversation. It was unexpected but refreshing. The League of Villains was opening up to her, showing a side that the world rarely saw.
Just then, her phone buzzed in her pocket, breaking the moment. She pulled it out to see several missed messages from Uraraka.
Uraraka: Where are you?
Uraraka: We're starting to get worried.
Uraraka: You need to come back."Crap," Y/N muttered, feeling guilt wash over her. "I should probably get back. My friends will be worried."
"Are you sure?" Toga asked, a pout forming on her lips. "We were just getting to know you!"
"I know, but I can't leave them hanging. They care about me." Y/N's voice was firm, yet she felt a pang of regret as she glanced back at her new acquaintances.
"We can walk you back," Dabi offered, surprising her. "It's not safe to be out alone, anyway."
"Yeah, that's a good idea!" Toga agreed, beaming. "Let's go!"
Y/N hesitated for a moment, feeling torn. But the lingering unease in her gut urged her to accept their offer. "Okay, let's head back together."
As they walked, Y/N found herself laughing and sharing stories, the tension of the night melting away. They rounded the corner toward the dorms, and Y/N spotted Uraraka pacing outside, worry etched across her features.
"Y/N!" Uraraka exclaimed, rushing forward. "Where have you been? We've been looking everywhere for you!"
"I'm sorry, I just needed to clear my head," Y/N replied, her voice small. "I ran into some people, and—"
"Some people?" Uraraka's eyes narrowed as she glanced past Y/N at the three figures behind her. "You mean them?"
Dabi raised an eyebrow, a smirk on his lips. "Surprised to see us, huh?"
"Uh, yes!" Uraraka huffed, crossing her arms. "What were you thinking, hanging out with them?"
Y/N felt a wave of defensiveness. "They were actually really nice! We were just talking."
"Talking? With villains?" Uraraka exclaimed. "That's dangerous, Y/N! What if they had ulterior motives?"
"Hey, chill," Dabi said, his voice laced with annoyance. "We're not here to cause trouble. We just walked her back."
Uraraka's gaze shifted between Y/N and the villains, uncertainty swirling in her eyes. "I don't like this. You shouldn't be out alone like that. It's not safe."
"I know," Y/N replied, guilt creeping back in. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to worry anyone. I thought I could handle it."
"Just promise us you won't go out alone again, okay?" Uraraka pleaded, her voice softening. "We care about you. You're part of our family."
Y/N nodded, feeling her heart swell with affection for her friends. "I promise. I'll be more careful."
Dabi exchanged a glance with Twice and Toga, then turned back to Y/N. "Well, if you ever want to talk again, we're around."
"Yeah!" Toga added, grinning widely. "We'll always be here for you, even if we're a little... unconventional!"
"Thanks," Y/N said, her smile genuine. "I appreciate it."
With that, the League of Villains turned to leave, disappearing into the night. Y/N felt a mix of emotions watching them go. They were still villains, but they had shown her kindness and understanding when she had needed it most.
As she turned back to Uraraka and the others, Y/N felt a renewed sense of hope. Perhaps she could navigate her own journey of healing while also understanding the complexities of others.
"Let's go inside," Uraraka said, wrapping an arm around Y/N's shoulders. "We were about to start a movie night."
"Sounds perfect," Y/N replied, a small smile forming on her lips. "I could use some good company right now."
As they headed inside, Y/N couldn't shake the feeling that this night had shifted something within her—a deeper understanding of herself and others, and the realization that connection could be found in the most unexpected places.
