The atmosphere in the training grounds was buzzing with energy. The students of Class 1-A and Class 1-B had been paired up for joint training exercises, which always carried a healthy dose of competition. There was a mutual respect between the two classes, but neither side could deny the rivalry that fueled them.

Y/N stood with her classmates from 1-B, stretching as she listened to Vlad King lay out the details of the day's exercises. Her eyes flicked over to where Class 1-A was gathered. She caught sight of Bakugou, who was already cracking his knuckles, an eager glint in his eye.

"Don't hold back just because you're dating one of us now, Y/N," Monoma teased from beside her, his voice dripping with his usual sarcasm. "We wouldn't want 1-A to think we've gone soft."

Y/N rolled her eyes, giving him a playful shove. "Oh, please. You know I'd never go easy on you guys," she shot back, smirking. "Besides, I'd say you're the one who needs to keep up."

Monoma opened his mouth to retort, but before he could get another word out, Vlad King clapped his hands, signaling for everyone's attention. "Alright, listen up! Today, we'll be focusing on team combat drills. Each team will consist of a mix of 1-A and 1-B students. This isn't just about showing off your individual skills; it's about teamwork," he explained, glancing over at Aizawa, who nodded in agreement.

"Make sure you don't get too competitive," Aizawa added in his usual monotone. "It's not about proving which class is better."

A murmur of excitement spread through the crowd as the teams were announced. Y/N found herself paired with Tokoyami from Class 1-A, while Bakugou was placed on a different team with Kendou from 1-B. The arrangement wasn't ideal—Y/N had been hoping for a chance to fight alongside Bakugou—but she wasn't about to complain. She could feel his eyes on her, and when she met his gaze, he gave her a slight nod, as if to say, "Show them what you've got."

As the first round of drills kicked off, Y/N and Tokoyami fell into a rhythm. She used her quirk to generate bursts of force to disorient their opponents while Tokoyami coordinated with Dark Shadow to follow up with precise strikes. The pair worked well together, surprising even some of the 1-A students who hadn't expected much from a 1-B member. Y/N took pride in that—she'd always been one to prove herself.

Across the field, Bakugou was doing his usual thing, blasting through obstacles with Kendou keeping up, using her quirk to swat away incoming attacks. Every so often, his gaze would drift over to where Y/N was fighting, an unspoken challenge in his eyes. She knew he was watching her—she could feel it. And it made her want to push herself even harder.

After a few rounds, the students were given a brief break to regroup. Y/N wiped the sweat from her forehead and grabbed a bottle of water, but before she could take a sip, Monoma appeared at her side again, grinning mischievously.

"You're doing well out there," he said, though his tone suggested he was about to add something more. "But, of course, we couldn't expect any less from someone who spends so much time with Bakugou. I wonder if he's been giving you private training sessions, hmm?"

Y/N shot him a glare, but before she could retort, a familiar voice cut in.

"Oi, Monoma, why don't you shut your damn mouth?" Bakugou's voice was loud enough to turn a few heads as he stomped over, his eyes blazing. "You got something to say about Y/N, you say it to me."

Monoma's grin widened, clearly pleased to have gotten a reaction. "Relax, Bakugou," he said, raising his hands in mock surrender. "I was just making an observation. No need to get so worked up. Unless, of course, I hit a nerve?"

Kendou, noticing the escalating tension, stepped between the two boys, placing a hand on Monoma's shoulder. "Come on, Monoma, let's not start something. We're supposed to be focusing on the training," she said firmly, giving him a pointed look.

Y/N took a step closer to Bakugou, her hand brushing against his arm. "Ignore him, Katsuki," she said softly, her eyes locking onto his. "He's just trying to get under your skin."

Bakugou's jaw clenched, but at her touch, some of the tension seemed to drain from him. "Tch. Whatever," he muttered, his gaze flicking back to Monoma one last time. "You're not worth my time, anyway."

The confrontation fizzled out, and as the students were called back to continue the drills, Y/N shot Bakugou a grateful smile. She could see the protective fire still burning in his eyes, and while she appreciated him standing up for her, she also knew she was perfectly capable of handling herself.

"Don't worry," she whispered as they parted ways to rejoin their teams. "I'll show you how 1-B handles things."

Bakugou's lips twitched into a faint smirk. "You'd better," he called back, his tone half-challenging, half-affectionate.

As the exercises resumed, Y/N threw herself into the training with renewed vigor, determined to prove that she belonged out there with the best of them—no matter what class she was from.
