The days after the match felt different—charged in a way Y/N couldn't quite explain. Every time she crossed paths with Bakugou, it was like the air between them crackled with something electric, something raw and unspoken. The usual tension that had always simmered beneath the surface had grown, transforming into something more... intense. And undeniably real.
Y/N wasn't sure what to make of it.
She found herself thinking about him more often than she liked—his words, his eyes, the way his presence made her feel both irritated and alive at the same time. There was no denying that they had chemistry on the battlefield, but off it? She didn't know what this was, or where it was going.
Tonight, she found herself wandering outside after training, trying to clear her head. The evening air was cool against her skin, the sky fading into a deep purple as the sun set. She had planned on grabbing some dinner, but her thoughts were too tangled, too focused on a certain someone she couldn't shake.
As if summoned by her thoughts, she heard footsteps approaching behind her.
"Oi, Sero."
Y/N tensed at the familiar voice. She turned to see Bakugou walking toward her, hands shoved into his pockets, his usual scowl softened by the fading light. He looked almost... relaxed. Almost.
"What are you doing out here?" Bakugou asked, stopping a few feet away. His tone was casual, but his gaze was anything but. Those fiery red eyes of his seemed to look straight through her, as if he was searching for something deeper.
Y/N shrugged, trying to keep her voice steady. "Just needed some air. You?"
Bakugou tilted his head slightly, studying her in that intense way of his. "Same."
They stood in silence for a moment, the air between them thick with unspoken tension. Y/N could feel her heart pounding in her chest, her mind racing as she struggled to figure out what to say, what to do.
But Bakugou, as always, was the first to break the silence.
"You've been different lately," he said, his voice quieter than usual, almost contemplative. "Ever since that fight."
Y/N swallowed, her pulse quickening at the way his words seemed to cut right to the heart of the matter. She wasn't sure how to respond. It wasn't like her to talk about feelings—especially not with him.
"I guess," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "Things just... changed."
Bakugou's gaze didn't waver. He took a step closer, his presence filling the space between them in a way that made Y/N's heart race even more. She could feel the heat radiating from him, that same intensity she always felt when he was near.
"What changed?" he asked, his voice low, almost a growl. But it wasn't harsh—just direct. As if he was daring her to be honest.
Y/N looked away, her mind swirling with everything she'd been feeling lately. The walls she had built around herself, the fear of letting anyone in, of letting go. Bakugou had seen through all of that, pushed her in ways no one else had. And she hated how much she liked it. How much she was starting to like him.
