The warmth of Bakugou's kiss lingered long after Y/N had slipped away from his room that night. As she walked back to her own, her heart thrummed in her chest, the silence between them somehow more powerful than any words they could've exchanged. It was an unspoken understanding now. They were both all in.

Y/N closed the door to her room quietly, leaning against it as she stared up at the ceiling. A smile played on her lips, the butterflies in her stomach refusing to settle. It felt strange—being this vulnerable, allowing herself to care this much—but it also felt right. Bakugou was unlike anyone she had ever been with, and the connection they shared was undeniable.

Still, the fear lingered in the back of her mind. Her past haunted her, threatening to rear its ugly head at any moment. But with Bakugou, she felt a little more at peace, like maybe she could finally move forward without that weight hanging over her.

That thought alone gave her a sliver of hope.

The next day, Y/N found herself training alone in one of the quieter areas of the gym, wanting to clear her head and focus. Her thoughts kept drifting back to Bakugou and the kiss they had shared. She needed to keep her mind sharp, though—especially when it came to her quirk.

She hadn't mastered controlling her quirk fully yet, and it required constant training. Manipulating sound waves was powerful but tricky, and she wanted to avoid losing control of it again, especially in battle.

As she concentrated on pushing the vibrations in the air, she felt a familiar presence approach from behind.

"You're getting better at that," Bakugou's voice cut through the quiet.

Y/N turned to see him standing there, his arms crossed, watching her with a mixture of approval and his usual intensity.

"Thanks," she replied, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Still working on it."

Bakugou walked closer, his gaze never leaving her. "You shouldn't push yourself too hard."

"I'm not," she said, turning back to focus on her training, but the truth was, she could feel the burn in her muscles already. She hadn't realized how tense she'd been until Bakugou had shown up.

Suddenly, she felt his hand on her arm, pulling her attention back to him. His touch was firm, yet gentle—just like everything else about him. He was always careful with her, something she hadn't expected from someone as fiery as Bakugou.

"You're lying," he muttered, his eyes narrowing slightly. "You're always pushing yourself too hard."

Y/N opened her mouth to protest, but Bakugou silenced her with a look, one that told her he wasn't going to take no for an answer.

"Come on," he said, his voice softer now. "Let's take a break."

Y/N hesitated for a moment, but the weight of his words and the exhaustion in her body convinced her to listen. She nodded, letting him lead her over to the bench along the wall where they both sat down.
