Not to confuse y'all, but this chapter is just a background/Flashback story of Toni and Ken's life before they got married 23 years later.. Yes it took that long.

I don't know how many times I have wrote the authors note and then kept deleting it because I was confusing myself, and I was scared of confusing, but I hope you understand the backstory below because the normal book and storyline is based off their life after they got married...Okay?

The earlier years...

1st year

Toni had just transferred to her new school in Atlanta Georgia moving all the way from Severn Maryland to start her new life with her four sisters and brother along with her mother who is now single parent. Toni's parents were newly divorced and Toni's mother, Evenlyn had moved Toni and her siblings,
hundreds of miles away for a new job opportunity and to start a new life. When her mother announced that they were moving it was refreshing to Toni, although Toni loved Maryland, she was excited to move, and see what this new life could bring.

Toni, being the new girl in town and coming into school in the middle of the year, was strange to her, and it was hard for her to adapt to her new environment and gain new friends until she met this boy named Kenny, he was part of choir and studied music, which Toni was studying in high school as an art and so was Kenny. They became friends quickly due to them having many things in common.
They were both freshman, studying the same art and also had most of their classes together,
They did almost every assignment and projects together and that's how they grew closer.

Toni seen Kenny has a friend and more so,
A older brother, she never had the feeling since she was the oldest of her siblings but Kenny introduced it to her. He was a really good friend to Toni, he'd be there anytime she needed him, overall, She loved him like but just as another sibling, a brother she'd say.
On the other hand, Kenny felt a different way about Toni. He was in love with her and he was going to express that to her one day and that day came a year and a half later.
