Toni's POV
I had just finished reading Kaiya a book called, The girl who makes a million mistakes. After we were done, I helped her clean up her room then I told her to go find her father because she wanted a snack.
We had kept Kaiya and Kensley home from school today because they were coming up with a cold and if they stayed in school it wouldn't help. So Kenny and I took them to the doctor earlier and they already got their medication, Hopefully we can send them back to school in a couple days when whatever they have blow over.
I walked to my office to get some work done but I realized I hadn't called Tatianna again, Since I called her this morning.
She hasn't been answering the phone which was typical for Tatianna and her attitude so I called Keri.
I had to call him 3 times in order for him to answer, when he answered I put the phone to my ear so no one could hear our conversation.
"What Toni?"
"Keri, wake your stank ass up. Where is Tatianna?"
"Man I don't fucking know Toni. She's probably sleep."
"Put her in the phone- wait why is she alseep? She's supposed to be in school."
"Because she didn't feel good."
"Keri you need to start sending her to school before they send someone to your house"
"Toni I know how to parent her, so shut the fuck up bitch."
"Excuse you?"
Kenny was walking by my office and came in, I knew he heard what Keri said because he snatched my phone out my hand and went off on Keri for disrespecting me. Kenny's face flushed with anger.
"Keri, what the hell is wrong with you? You don't ever talk to my wife like that!" Kenny's voice boomed through the phone.
"Man, who the hell do you think you are?"Keri shot back, his tone defiant.
"I'm her husband, and I'm not going to stand by while you disrespect her. You need to get your act together and start being a responsible parent. Tatianna should be in school, not sleeping in because you can't handle your responsibilities."
"Don't tell me how to raise my mother fucking kid, Kenny. You don't know shit about my life."
"I know enough to see that you're not doing your job. If you don't start taking care of Tatianna properly, there are going to be consequences. You think the school won't notice if she keeps missing days? They'll come knocking, and you'll have to answer for it."
