Ken's POV
Toni and I arrived in LA and immediately went home to get out other car before speeding to the police station to find out what the hell was going on with KJ.
My mind was racing with a million questions. How could this have happened? KJ had always been a good kid. This didn't make any sense.
Toni had called Tracey for me and she was catching the next flight to get to LA so she could be present and our lawyer was on the way. There was way to much going on today, First Keri's bitch ass dying, then Erik's punk ass, Tianna damn near going into labor and now KJ getting arrested. Just as soon as Toni and I were going to have peace, shit hits the fan and splatters everywhere.
As we pulled up to the station, I could feel the tension in the air. Toni and I exchanged a worried glance before rushing inside. The front desk officer looked up as we approached.
"We're here for Kenneth Edmonds Jr.,"I said, trying to keep my voice steady. "We just found out he's been arrested. He's our son"
The officer nodded and asked us to wait while he checked the system. Every second felt like an hour as we stood there, anxiously waiting for some information.
Finally, the officer returned. "He's being processed right now. You can wait in the lobby, and someone will be out to speak with you shortly."
Toni and I sat down, the weight of the situation pressing heavily on us. I couldn't shake the feeling that there had to be some kind of mistake. We needed to get to the bottom of this and fast.
Minutes felt like hours as we waited. I kept replaying everything in my head, trying to figure out how KJ could have gotten into such trouble. in the meantime, We checked in on Teyanna and the other kids to let them know we'll get there as soon as possible. I played with Kenji to make the time go by faster, it felt like everything was slowly melting. Toni squeezed my hand, offering silent support. Finally, a detective walked over to us.
"Mr. and Mrs. Edmonds?"he asked, and we both stood up.
"Yes, that's us," I replied quickly. "What's going on with our son?" Toni asked.
"Let's step into my office," the detective said, leading us down a hallway. Once inside, he closed the door and gestured for us to sit. "We have some serious charges against Kenneth. Drug possession and selling on school property."
I felt my stomach drop. "There has to be some mistake. KJ would never do something like that."
"We understand this is difficult to believe," the detective said calmly. "But we have evidence that suggests otherwise. We'll go through everything with you, and Kenneth will have a chance to explain his side of the story."
