>>>Tianna's POV
I was sitting in the hospital bed, just waiting until the mom. My mama will knock the shit out of me when she found out the results. They had ran a blood test on me thinking that it could've been something simple and they gave me an IV for hydration my back was finally relieved that , she would get some answers soon, but it would be the answer that she expected
"Tianna, why do you look so worried?
The doctor said it's probably something that's not that serious"I looked up at her not saying a word.
"Hello, Ti? Do you hear me talking to you?"
"Huh?" I responded.
"Tianna, If you're this shook about a stomach ache then maybe we would've came earlier" Mom scolded gently.
I ran over my lines of telling her over and over again. But it wasn't good enough.
My eyes welled up with tears, my heart pounding in my chest. I knew the truth would come out any minute now, and the fear of my mother's reaction were overwhelming. I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself.
"Mom," my voice quivered, "there's something I need to tell you."
My mother stopped and looked up at me with a concerned face. "What is it, Tianna? What's wrong?"
Before I could muster the courage to speak, the door opened, and the doctor walked in, holding a clipboard. My tears spilled over as I stood up, lifting my shirt to reveal my growing stomach.
"Mom, I'm pregnant," I blurted out, my voice breaking.
Mom's eyes widened in shock, her mouth opening and closing as she struggled to find words. The doctor cleared his throat, drawing their attention.
"Mrs. Edmonds..I can come back..if you need-"
"No. What are her results?"
She said holding her hand up a the doctor and keeping eye contact with me. I know she was fighting in her head and doing her best not to knock the hell out of me.
"I'm afraid your daughter is pregnant"
the doctor said gently. "We've confirmed it with the blood test and we'll need to do ultrasound."The room fell silent, the weight of the revelation hanging heavily in the air. Mom looked at me daughter, Angry tears ran down her cheek as she stood there like a statue.
I sat back down on the hospital bed, my legs dangling off the edge as I clutched my stomach. Mom nicely asked the doctor to leave the room and I was scared my flight in that moment.
"Tianna, If I yell to loud at you they're going to call social services and if I beat your ass they're going to call the police on me."
Mom's grip tightened, and she closed her eyes, pacing the room, her face now a mask of anger and hurt.
"What the ever lasting fuck is wrong with you Tianna?" She nearly screamed. "You're only sixteen! Do you have any idea what this means?"
"Mom, I'm sorry-"
"NO! NO! TIANNA I DONT WANNA FUCKING HEAR IT. IM TIRED IF HEARNG SORRY ALL THE FUCKING TIME. IM THROUGH WITH EVERYONES BULLSHIT.
I REALLY HAD HOPES FOR YOU.
I DID EVERYTHING FOR YOU AND THIS GOD DAMN FAMILY! YOU HAD LOVE, YOU HAD A FAMILY, YOU HAD MONEY! AND THIS IS HOW I GET PAID?!"Mom let out a very loud yet soft scream of frustration.
She then grabbed her purse and left out the room slamming the door. She never returned to the hospital and the hospital realized they called her but there was no answer so they called my dad, Kenny and he came. When he came in the room, I could tell he knew about what was revealed and he seemed disappointed.
The hospital released me and said that I needed to come back another day for an ultrasound, when my dad signed me out.
We walked to the car and got in. We sat in a thick silence and he just looked out his window.
"I-"
"Don't," Dad interrupted, his voice heavy with disappointment. "I just don't understand, Tianna. How could this happen?"
I felt a lump in my throat, the weight of my father's disappointment pressing down on me. "Dad, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean for any of this to happen."
He sighed, still staring out the window. "Your mother... she couldn't handle it. She's always been strong, but this... it broke her."
"I didn't want to hurt anyone. I'm scared, Dad."
He finally turned to look at me. "I know you are, Tianna. But this is something we have to face now."
I nodded, wiping her tears. "What do we do now?"
He took a deep breath. "First, we need to get you that ultrasound. And then, we'll figure out the rest."
"How about mom?"
"I'm gonna talk to her but she's broken Tianna. She's really down bad. But she'll eventually come around just stay out of dodge because hell will break lose. I wouldn't be surprised if the house is on fire when we get back."
The drive home was quiet, We were lost in their own thoughts. We arrived and once we went inside, it was quiet.
Dad set his keys on the counter and turned to me. "Why don't you go rest for a bit? I'll try to get in touch with your Toni. She was here when I left so.."
I nodded and headed to my room, feeling exhausted.
I laid down on my bed, staring at the ceiling, trying to process everything that had happened. My mind raced with a thousand thoughts, but one stood out: the fear of what the future held.
