Kenny's POV

Toni and I were still in Atlanta because we had to face the court with Tatianna, as soon as they found Keri and the nigga who hurt Tati.
The detectives think they ran off together.
I thought..well I prayed Tatianna had killed the man but she said she couldn't remember when shooting him. There was no lead on who the guy was, we just had a first name and we knew he was affiliated with Keri as a drug lord and a pimp.

Meanwhile, Toni and I were doing our research on lawyers for Tatianna's incident when we had got a call from the detective that was working on the case.

"I hope you caught that son of a bitch."

I said to the officer over the phone.

"Hello Mr Edmonds. I hope your day is going well.
Is Mrs Edmonds around?"

"She is, I'll put you on speaker."

I got Tone's attention and told her it was the detective and she moved closer to me. I put the detective on speaker and he began a to speak.
The detective's voice came through the speaker, calm but serious.

"Mr. and Mrs. Edmonds, we have some updates on the case. We believe we have a solid lead on Keri's whereabouts. We've received some tips that he might be hiding out in a nearby state. We're coordinating with local authorities to track him down."

Toni squeezed my hand, her eyes wide with a mix of hope and fear. "What about the the Marty guy who hurt Tatianna? Any news on him?" she asked.

The detective paused for a moment. "Unfortunately, we still don't have a solid ID on him. We're working with the information Tatianna provided, but it's been challenging without more details. We're doing everything we can to find him."

I felt a surge of frustration but tried to keep my voice steady. "We appreciate your efforts, detective. Please keep us posted on any new developments."

"Of course, Mr and Mrs Edmonds. We're doing everything in our power to bring your daughter justice. I'll be in touch with any further updates. Take care."

As the call ended, I turned to Toni.
"I'm so sick of this shit, Ken..But whatever will help Tatianna get some peace of mind then I'm riding"
She nodded, determination in her eyes.
"We'll find the best lawyer for her, and we'll make sure she gets the justice she deserves." I added on rubbing Toni's hand for comfort

Toni took a deep breath, her resolve evident. "We can't let them get away with this, Kenny. Tatianna deserves justice, and I won't stop until she gets it."

I nodded, feeling a wave of determination wash over me. "Absolutely. We'll find the best lawyer, and we'll make sure every stone is turned to find these niggas."

Just then, Tatianna walked into the room, looking tired but trying to stay strong. "Did you hear anything new?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Toni quickly moved to her side, wrapping an arm around her. "Yes, the detective called. They have a lead on Keri, but they're still looking for the man who hurt you."

Tatianna nodded slowly, her eyes distant.
"I just want this to be over. Do I have to testify?"

"We know, sweetheart," I said, my voice gentle but firm. "And we're going to do everything we can to make that happen. We're here for you, every step of the way."

Toni added, "We've been researching lawyers, and we're going to find the best one to represent you."

Tatianna managed a small smile, her eyes filling with gratitude.
