Ken's POV

The morning sun filtered through the hospital blinds, casting a soft glow on Tatiana's pale face. She was resting, her breaths steady but shallow. I sat by her side, my hand gently holding hers, while Kenny stood near the window, lost in thought.

A soft knock on the door broke the silence. It was Dr. Patel, Tatiana's physician.
"Good morning, Mrs and Mr Edmonds" she greeted us with a warm but professional smile.
"How's Tatiana doing today?"

"She had a rough night."I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.

Dr. Patel nodded, her expression serious.
"I wanted to discuss her condition and the next steps. May I?"

I nodded, bracing myself for what was to come. "Please, go ahead."

Dr. Patel pulled up a chair and sat across from us. Kenny came over to sit next to me and held me in his arms before the physician began.

"Tatiana has been through a significant trauma. Physically, she's healing slowly, but emotionally,
she has a long road ahead. I recommend we start her on a therapy plan as soon as possible."

Kenny stepped forward, his concern evident. "What kind of therapy are we talking about?"

"Counseling, primarily," Dr. Patel explained.
"We have specialists here who can help her process what happened. It's crucial she feels supported and safe."

I squeezed Tatiana's hand, feeling the weight of the situation. "We'll do whatever it takes to help her. But we have more kids in California and that's where we all live now so we need to get her help out there, that's where she needs to be.
Not here."

Dr. Patel smiled softly. "I'll make the necessary arrangements. In the meantime, it's important she's surrounded by loved ones. Your presence makes a big difference."

As Dr. Patel left, I turned to Kenny and he just hugged me.

I looked at Tatiana, her fragile form lying on the hospital bed. "We'll get through this,"
I whispered, more to myself than to anyone else. "We have to."

Just then, my phone buzzed. It was a message from Tamar: "Hey, how's Tatiana? Thinking of you guys."

I quickly typed a response: "She's stable. Thank you for checking in. We appreciate your support Tay."

Tamar's reply was swift: "Always here for you. Let me know if you need anything and your babies are okay. I love y'all."

I seen her reply and she sent a picture along with the message.

Kenji

I smiled as I hearted her message.
I put the phone down and turned to Kenny.

"Tay sends her love"

Kenny smiled and looked over at Tatianna.
As I sat there, holding my daughter's hand and feeling Kenny's reassuring presence, I knew that no matter how difficult the journey ahead, we had the strength and support to face it. Together, we would uncover the truth and find a way to heal.

Kenny said he was gonna go outside and call the kids to make sure they were good and when he left I just sat there looking at Tati.
Someone was going to pay.
