"Do you have any plans for today?" Conor asked, sipping his coffee.

"I was thinking of going to the library, maybe grabbing a new book to read," I replied.

"Any idea what book you're looking for?" he asked, standing up and searching for his shirt.

One word: *HOT.*

This man had the nicest body ever! It's not like I hadn't touched it before nor seen it, even though we're not dating. But even after all this time, I still couldn't help but admire how sexy he looked. His muscles were just... outstanding.

"Eyes up here, lady," he said with a grin.

*Sigh.* "I'm not sure yet, I'll just browse the shelves and see what catches my eye."

He walked over, leaned in, and planted a soft kiss on my forehead before heading to the kitchen.

"Fair enough," he said casually.

Then, as if it was nothing, he added, "I'm traveling tonight."

I froze. He never mentioned he was leaving. Conor usually told me everything-who he was dating, who he fought with, and all the messy details in between.

Speaking of which, there was a time, back when our friendship was really deepening, when we kissed. It was at a party he'd taken me to, and he was pretty drunk. On the way home, he leaned in and kissed me. I thought it was adorable and loved every second of it. But the next day, he apologized and told me it was a mistake.

That hurt-a lot. But I understood, or at least, I tried to. Since then, I've kept my feelings for him to myself. Even so, we still spent time together, doing all the things couples do... except we weren't a couple.
