The elevator doors opened with a familiar ding.
Jungkook stepped out, bunny tote slung over one shoulder, hair freshly washed and curled at the ends. He was still a little pale, still sniffling, but his hoodie had been traded in for a soft beige cardigan, and he’d even dabbed a little gloss on his lips because—well, he felt better. He wanted to look better, too.
After all... Taehyung had taken care of him.
That meant something.
But the second Jungkook stepped onto the office floor—
Something felt wrong.
The usual buzz of chatter died down, ever so slightly.
People glanced up from their desks.
And didn’t look away.
Jungkook blinked.
Three interns huddled by the coffee machine. One of them elbowed the other when he passed.
Someone near HR looked at him, whispered something, then coughed awkwardly when he made eye contact.
Jungkook straightened his back and kept walking toward his shared office space with Taehyung, pretending not to notice.
But the moment he opened the door to his small desk corner, a familiar voice called from behind him.
“Jungkook-ssi.”
He turned.
It was Min Seo, from PR.
Sweet. Level-headed. And right now—visibly anxious.
“Good morning?” Jungkook greeted.
Min Seo leaned in. “I think... you should check Twitter.”
Jungkook tilted his head. “Why?”
Min Seo hesitated. “Just… check.”

Jungkook closed the door behind him and dropped his bag quickly.
Opened his laptop.
he tapped tge most searched tweets.
Searched:

The results loaded in less than a second.
And Jungkook’s heart dropped.
There, at the top of the feed, was a photo.
Grainy. Zoomed in. But still unmistakable.
Him and Taehyung.
Standing outside his apartment building.
The image was angled perfectly so that the space between them was unclear—as if they were kissing.
They weren’t.
Taehyung had been brushing a stray leaf from his hoodie.
But the angle… the moment…
Jungkook scrolled down.
