AUTHOR POV

One day during dinner, Yash announced to his family, "I'm inviting Jivika over for lunch tomorrow."

His mother, immediately responded, "Yash, I feel you're making a rash decision. This is a lifelong commitment."

Yash, firm in his stance, replied, "There's no need for more thinking, Ma. I've made my decision, and Di has already given her acceptance."

His grandmother, intervened, "Enough, Yash! Don't speak like that. We're your family, and whatever we say is about your future."

Yash scoffed, "Yeah, you're right. It's always about my future," he said bitterly, before abruptly leaving the table.

Avanthika, trying to calm things down, turned to Dadi, "I met her and spoke to her, Dadi. She's good, and she's perfect for Yash. I hope you get to know her before making any judgments."

His mother, still upset, sighed, "What's the point in our opinions, Avanthika? Yash made it clear that he's made up his mind, and what we think doesn't matter."

Later that night, Yash messaged Jivika, "You are going to meet my family tomorrow for lunch." She simply replied, "Okay."

The next morning, Jivika dressed in a simple kurta. Around noon, Yash messaged her that he was downstairs. She locked her door and made her way down, and soon they were on their way to the Singhania mansion.

Upon arrival, Yuvi took the lead, introducing Jivika to everyone. She greeted them all with a polite smile, but as the conversations progressed, it became evident that none of them were satisfied with Jivika. They had imagined a completely different bride for Yash, and Jivika didn't fit that image.

Their cold and distant behaviour was hard to miss, and Jivika quickly understood that she wasn't welcomed here. The tense atmosphere made her uncomfortable and nervous.

After lunch, sensing the unspoken disapproval from Yash's family, Jivika forced a smile and stood up. "Thank you, that was a lovely lunch. I'll take my leave now," she said, bidding everyone goodbye.

Yash offered to drop her off, but Jivika politely declined saying "No, it's fine Yash. I'll take an auto." She then booked a ride and left the mansion, feeling the weight of their disapproval.

After Jivika left, Yash addressed his family, "We're going to have a register marriage and a grand reception for everyone. As for the press, after the reception, I'll tell my team to officially publish the news."

His mother, frustrated, interjected, "And what about our opinion? Don't you care whether we liked her or not?"

Yash shrugged, his expression indifferent. "There's no need to ask. You all made it pretty clear that none of you like her."

Shocked, his mother pressed on, "And you're still going ahead with it?"

Yash nodded, "Yes. And it shouldn't bother you because, after the wedding, she won't be living here. We're moving out."

This declaration stunned everyone at the table. His grandmother, visibly shaken, exclaimed, "You can't do that, Yash! This is your home, and we are your family. How can you leave us?"
