AUTHOR'S POV

The night was unusually quiet as Janhvi's family returned home, the darkness of the mansion immediately drawing their attention. Sakshi, puzzled and uneasy, voiced her concern, "Why is the mansion dark? Why didn't anyone turn on the lights?"

Subhadra's heart sank with a premonition of dread. The stillness was unnatural, and an uneasy feeling gnawed at her.

As soon as they stepped into the mansion, Varun reached for the light switch. The bright lights flickered on, revealing a scene of chaos and horror. One of their trusted helpers lay on the floor, bloodied and injured, their groans of pain cutting through the silence. Everyone stood motionless, shocked and horrified by the sight before them.

Prem hurried to one of the helpers who was barely conscious, groaning in pain. Kneeling beside him, Prem asked urgently, "Kaka, what happened?"

The helper, struggling to speak, mumbled, "Jaanu Beti..."

Panic surged through everyone as they processed the helper's words. Varun's heart raced as he sprinted towards Janhvi's room, with Kabir following closely behind, his own fear growing with every step.

"Jaanu!" Varun shouted; his voice filled with desperation. He took the stairs two at a time, Kabir right behind him, both brothers driven by an overwhelming need to find their sister.

Reaching Janhvi's door, they found it slightly ajar. Varun and Kabir exchanged a tense glance, the dread in their eyes mirroring each other. Something was terribly wrong. They could feel it in the pit of their stomachs.

Varun pushed the door open, and they both stood frozen in the doorway, unable to process the scene before them. Janhvi lay motionless on the bed, her clothes torn, scratches covering her body, her mouth gagged, and her hands bound. The room was a silent witness to the horror that had unfolded.

Jiya, who had been following Varun and Kabir, gasped as she saw Janhvi's lifeless form. Her hand flew to her mouth, stifling a cry. Tears welled up in her eyes as she stepped into the room, her legs trembling with shock. She ran near Janhvi, trying to wake her up. Varun and Kabir stood there motionless, their eyes wide with horror. They saw their mother, grandmother, and father coming upstairs along with Karishma and Neelam.
