AUTHOR'S POV
As Yash and Jivika sat down for dinner, Yash said, "Jivika, could you take some time off from school tomorrow? Di and Jiju are flying to London for the baby's delivery, and it'd be nice to visit them before they leave."
Jivika smiled, "I've already applied for permission. Avanthika di told me about their plans yesterday."
Yash nodded, a smile touching his face. "Perfect. Then tomorrow, we'll head to their place in the morning. I'll drop you at your school after that."
"Sure," Jivika agreed.
The next morning, Yash and Jivika arrived at Avanthika and Abhinav's home, where the entire Singhania family had gathered to see the couple off. As they walked in, Yash and Jivika greeted everyone with warm smiles, though only Yuvi, Avanthika, and their spouses responded kindly to Jivika. The rest of the family gave her little nods. Yash felt his hand clench reflexively, bothered by their coldness toward her. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to keep calm for Abhinav and Avanthika's sake.
Jivika, seemed unaffected by the family's indifference. She walked over to Avanthika, giving her a warm hug. "All the best, di," she said softly, her voice filled with genuine affection.
Jivika took out the small, carefully tied thread, she held it out to Avanthika with a warm smile. "Yesterday, I visited the temple, Di," Jivika began, her voice soft. "I'm not sure if you believe in this, but the pandit ji gave me this sacred thread. It's for your and the baby's safety, and to bless you with a smooth delivery."
Avanthika's eyes softened as she reached out and accepted the thread. Her voice was touched as she said, "Thank you, Jivika. This means a lot." She tied it around her wrist. "You didn't have to, but this is... really special to me."
Jivika smiled, a little bashfully. "Of course, Di. I wanted to do whatever I could. You've been like a sister to me since I joined this family."
Yash family watched the interaction yet there is , Avanthika looked at her husband, clearly touched by Jivika's kindness. Yash, standing a few steps away, couldn't help but notice how everyone's expressions softened as they watched his wife. Though he rarely showed emotion, a small, almost imperceptible smile crossed his face, touched by Jivika's thoughtfulness.
Avanthika reached out and squeezed Jivika's hand. "When the baby arrives, you and Yash must come visit us in London. Don't wait for us to return to India, alright?"
Jivika nodded. "We'll be there, Di. I wouldn't miss it for anything."
Just then, Abhinav joined them, seeing the thread around Avanthika's wrist. He gave Jivika smile. "That's a thoughtful gesture, Jivika. Thank you for looking out for them."
Jivika smiled modestly, and the family spent the rest of the morning in warmth and cheer, making farewells and sharing well-wishes for Avanthika and the baby on the way.
As the clock ticked closer to their departure, Abhinav glanced at his watch, then looked at Jivika. He motioned her to join him in a quiet corner where they could talk."So," he began in a low voice, "did you speak to them?"
Jivika nodded, "Yes, I told them everything. They said they'd start digging into it and will reach out if they need anything."
