YASH POV

As Jivika and I walked over to where everyone was gathered, I could feel the weight of the moment settling in. Dadi approached Jivika first, her eyes soft and full of warmth. She gently caressed Jivika's head, leaned in, and kissed her forehead. "You look beautiful," Dadi said to her, smiling fondly. Jivika smiled back, clearly touched by the gesture.

I stepped forward and took Dadi's blessings, bowing slightly to touch her feet. Seeing this, Jivika followed suit, immediately bending down to touch Dadi's feet as well, showing her respect. Dadi smiled and made Jivika sit beside her, and I watched as she settled in, clearly trying to maintain her composure as introductions began.

My sister, Avanthika, took the lead, her voice calm but welcoming as she said, "Jivika, let me introduce myself." She introduced herself and her husband, Abhi jiju, followed by the rest of Janhvi's family. I watched as Jivika politely smiled at everyone, her posture calm and respectful as she nodded and smiled at everyone to each introduction.

Just as the introductions were finishing, Di suddenly spoke up. "Jaanu darling, why don't you show Jivika aunty the whole house? Show her your room, your new toys."

I was taken aback for a moment, surprised by the unexpected suggestion. "Why are they sending her away?" I thought, but I kept my expression calm. Jivika, on the other hand, looked slightly flustered. She hesitated for a moment but then followed my little princess upstairs, who was already chattering non-stop in excitement.

As soon as Jivika and Janhvi disappeared upstairs, I could feel the shift in the room. Di turned towards me, her expression serious and her voice low but sharp. "Okay, Yash, what's happening?"

I blinked, surprised by the sudden change in tone. "What do you mean, Di?" I asked, playing dumb, though I had a feeling this conversation was heading somewhere uncomfortable.

"Do you really expect us to believe the story you told us over the phone? Really? Do you think we're that stupid?" she said, her voice full of skepticism.

I looked at her, trying to stay composed. "Di—" I started to explain, but she cut me off.

"What's the arrangement, Yash? Did you offer her money?" she asked directly, her tone filled with suspicion.

I was taken aback by "Di, what are you talking about?" I said, frustrated. "She's an independent woman. She doesn't need money, and I didn't offer her any kind of monetary help."

She raised an eyebrow, not entirely convinced. "So then, why did you accept her proposal?"

I sighed, feeling cornered. "I didn't, Di. I left the decision to you all."
