Athena stood in her apartment, pacing back and forth.

Their girlfriend?

It wasn't an option. This felt less righteous than taking down the ring, or the necessity of staying in their apartment while she was in hiding. This was greedy. They were already a part of her life, she didn't need more.

Groaning, she collapsed onto the floor, the cold, bare wood providing no comfort. Clicking her phone open, she checked the group chat, scrolling through the mindless updates the two men were sending her. She appreciated them giving her space, but part of her couldn't help but be more mad that they were still trying to be kind even though she had ungratefully stormed out of their dinner.

The Monday after the dinner, Athena called out of work, too embarrassed to see Hizashi face-to-face.

I need a distraction. She thought resolutely, going to change into athletic clothes. If anything, a run would clear her mind, or at least get her out of the miserable cell she called an apartment.

God, she missed Shota and Hizashi's apartment.

Shaking her head, she pulled on her running shoes, sitting on the couch as she leaned over to tie the laces.

Athena blinked as she felt the familiar tug of her portal bursting, only having a second to process what was happening before she found herself in a new place. She tipped to the side, the couch now gone from beneath her. Righting herself, she looked around. The place was bright and blinding, sunlight pouring in from a glass ceiling. She was in the center of a giant plaza.

Shota's portal had broken.

She glanced around, finding him on the ground a few feet away. He was struggling to his feet.

"Athena?" He rasped, patting his pocket for the missing dimension shard.

"It shattered. What's going on?" She called out. Before Shota could answer, a young man shouted at her. Gone was the awkwardness, and a deep feeling that something was wrong settled in her gut, shoving out her guilt and fear.

"Bringing in reinforcements, Erasurehead?" Athena took in her surroundings. Aizawa was watching the man warily. There were unconscious bodies strewn across the plaza, most likely villains.

Wasn't he supposed to be leading a school field trip today?

There were a couple straggling villains, who eyed her with caution, circling her slowly. Athena edged towards Shota until she was by his side, where he pressed his knife into her outstretched palm. Athena brought her mask from the in-between out, clicking it into place over her mouth with a hiss.
