Kylie's POV:

Waking up next to my girl is unreal. Opening your eyes for the first time with Malia Baker lying in your arms.

I lay silently next to a sleeping Malia. Her soft breathing, her vanilla scent.

No matter how good it felt to be with her, I couldn't shake this feeling that the same thing would happen.

Malias 17, i'm 18. She's younger and I had concerns that she's still in a 'high school' mindset. I'm older, i'm ready to settle down and be serious, and I couldn't shake this feeling that this was all just for fun for her.

I thought a lot about our moments. The first time meeting her, my butterflies at the movies. The angst my heart went through when she would touch her necklace, then back to kissing in secret.

More heartbreak, tensions, and now right back to square one.

But this wasn't square one. Square one was a fresh horizon, every memory was 'new'. Now, we're building on top of heartache and love, and we've already been through so much in such little time.

I'm done being careful. I'm ready to look out not only for Malia, but also for myself.

I have to keep myself in mind. I've been through this, i'm saving myself from more hurt.

I was so deep in thought, I didn't even realize Malia woke up.

I looked down at her, and smiled.

My heart speaks louder than my mind.

"Morning," I said, rubbing her back.

She smiled, her eyes still closed.

"Goodmorning Ky," She said in her raspy morning voice.

That voice...chills.

"What do you want to do on this fine Saturday?" I asked, smiling gently.

"Honestly?" She asked, eyes still closed.

"Mhm,"

"I want to lay here forever," She said, nuzzling her head deeper into the crook of my neck.

I would've agreed and let her lay with me forever hours, but I remembered.

Safe Kylie. Look out for yourself.

I smiled but gently sat up, she was forced to do the same.

She groaned softly before opening her eyes for the first time.

She looked at me, a hesitant smile creeping over her face.

"Okay, okay. I'm up. What should we do?" She looked at me, her eyes big and brown.

Immediate fold.

"Want to go out and do an activity?" I asked,

Her eyebrows furrowed as she began to speak once more.

"Ky, weren't you literally afraid of being seen by the public last night?"

I laughed at her statement, realizing how dumb and immature she must've thought I sounded.

"About that, we'll be fine I realized we can just say we're hanging out, everyone will believe us."

Malia slightly frowned at my whopping concern for being seen together.

I didn't mean for it to come off like that, but I genuinly just thought it would be for the best for the film.

"So do you want to like mini golf or go bowling? Something active?" Malia asked.

"Yes, any of those sound so fun." I responded, my thumb casually massaging Malias hip in the bed.
