Malia's POV:

"What?"
"What!?"

Kylie and I asked in unison.

Ruby just took a shaky breath.

She walked a little farther into the room and tossed her phone down onto the bed.

Her hands started to fumble with the charms on her bracelet.

She seemed extra anxious, a trait i've never seen her possess before.

Ruby was no longer her usual positive self. She wasn't the girl who always looked on the bright side. Right now, she was the girl that was worried for our futures.

"Yep."

She said, her voice slightly cracking.

"Why though? The movie hasn't even come out yet," Kylie said, obviously shaken by the news.

I looked at Kylie.

This was her first time getting the absolute main part in a big production.

It was completely unfair that Disney was even considering stripping that away.

We worked so hard to get to where we were now, Kylie especially.

She had charts with her goals written all over it. She never took days off of preparing for filming, even on the days when we weren't called to set.

Kylie was the hardest worker I knew, and this project meant the world to her.

To all of us.

I was in shock.

So much so that I couldn't say any words.

Ruby looked at us and nodded.

"That's exactly why. They say the movie should have been out by now, and we're taking too much time to film."

My jaw dropped, and all of a sudden words began to flow out.

"That's not fair. Have they not seen the news? We're trying to stay alive, who gives a damn if the movie gets pushed back a month or two?"

Kylie looked at me and put her hand on my leg.

Even in what could be considered the worst moments of her life, she still tried to console me.

That's not how it works. At least, it's not how it should work.

This is a relationship. I support her just as much as she supports me. And right now, she needs support.

I just looked at her and smiled.

Well, I smiled as much as I physically could. It was hard to smile in these circumstances, but Kylie needed to see one.

Ruby sat down at the edge of our bed, her hand never stopped fidgeting with the bracelet charms.

She looked up at Kylie and I.

"Should we call Jennifer?" She asked, her eyes seeking ours for approval.

I turned to Kylie who took a deep breath and nodded.

"I guess we have to." She said mellowly.

I grabbed her hand and interlocked our fingers. This was killing Kylie. I could see it.

Ruby nodded and grabbed her phone, dialing a number I assume was our directors.

"Hi Ruby," I heard Jennifer's voice on the other line. "I assume you've heard the news,"
