*Guys atp this story might be like 500 chapters long bc I literally can't stop writing (we're on chap 44 and the movie isn't even out...)*

---------------------------------

Kylie's POV:

We had been back in the hotel room for a while now.

Ruby just stepped outside because Josh called her and apparently it was private.

I still need to talk to her about that.

Anyways, she left just Malia and I alone in the hotel room.

I was standing by the door, Malia was sitting on the bed scrolling on her phone.

I noticed she hasn't spoken much since last night, or even really laughed.

You know something's wrong when Malia doesn't laugh.

I walked over to the bed and sat down next to her, causing her to look up from her phone.

"You okay?" I asked whilst moving a strand of her hair from her face.

She just smiled at me, but there was more depth behind her eyes. I just knew it.

"Yeah i'm good, why?" She said, trying her best to act like she was perfectly fine.

I saw right through it.

Malia was so good at acting on screen, but when it came down to actual situations, you would never guess what her profession is.

"Malia, talk to me." I said, my hand gravitating towards her leg.

Malia's breathing hitched, she seemed like she couldn't focus on lying to me anymore.

"It's just all crazy to me. That's all."

I knew what she was talking about, but needed to find a way for her to get it off of her chest.

"What's crazy?" I asked, my thumb rubbing gentle circles on her thigh.

She looked at me and laughed.

"You can't be serious." She looked me dead in the eye, as if trying to read me. "Your ex boyfriend was just arrested for murder, my ex best friend was just shot and killed, and you're asking me what's crazy?"

Malia started to rant.

I knew that this was weighing her down, I mean, how could it not?

I just wasn't aware of just how much of an impact this all was having on her.

I was feeling affected too. It would be crazy to say that I'm not, I'm just doing a good job at hiding it.

Malia's younger than me. Ruby is too.

I'm the oldest, therefore I have to take on the responsibility of being there for the both of them, even if it meant pushing my feelings aside.

I stopped thinking about myself and started to listen as Malia continued on.

"I mean, I'm sitting here struggling to keep myself from breaking down, yet you and Ruby are just living life as if nothing happened."

I had to butt in and tell Malia I cared too. I needed her to know she wasn't alone.

"Malia-"

"-No! You don't get to say my name as if nothings going on. News flash, the biggest and possibly scariest news has come to us, and yet you just sit there like nothings wrong."

I didn't know what to say.

Is that how I've been coming off as? Someone who could care less?

"Malia, I care. I promise you I care." I said. My hand was still rested on her leg, but she pushed it off.

A wave of shock filled my body. I didn't know what to do.

She looked at me, and there was sadness in her eyes.

That's when I realized Malia was being serious. She genuinely believed that I was unphased by all that was going on.

Malia stood up from the bed, and it was obvious she was going to try to leave, so I grabbed her hand.

She looked me in the eyes.

"What."

"Sit down." I said, watching her take a seat next to me.

I wrapped my arms around her, forcing her to lay back onto me.

She didn't hesitate to lean on me. Despite the fact that she was mad, this would have been a really cute moment.

I played with her soft hair and took a deep breath before deciding on what to say.

"I care a lot Malia." She looked up at me from my lap. "I care so much that I want to forget. I care to the point where my heart physically hurts when I remember Matt, and even when I remember Shay."

Malia continued to look at me, her intense stare sending shivers through my body.

"Then why do you pretend like it doesn't bother you, Ky?"

I paused for a moment.

I told myself that I was just being protective of the two girls I loved most, but the more I thought of it, the more I realized I was protecting myself from my own feelings.

"You're right. I don't know why I pretend. I guess I just thought it would be easier, but its not."

Malia looked at me, nodding and listening so intently.

Her gaze softened, and I could tell she was no longer frustrated with me.

She was just fully understanding. She nodded and touched my cheek.

"Well, you have me. We have each other. Neither of us should ever have to feel like we have to deal with our feelings alone."

Malia talked from my lap, her voice soft spoken.

"I know, I know. And you'll always have me." I replied.

"I know. I love you, Kylie."

I looked at the girl who was speaking.

Despite her being the youngest, she was so mature, so wise.

Malia inspires me in so many ways, I can't even explain it.

Everything about her is perfect. I know that for a fact, and it's rare that I ever really know anything.

Another thing that I know for a fact, is that I don't know who I would be, or where I would be without her.

Ruby walked back into the hotel room, a weird and unreadable expression plastered on her face.

She turned and saw Malia laying in my lap, and a smile immediately creeped up on her face.

"You guys are so cute," She said, her hand touching her heart.

I smiled, but just like Malia, Ruby's eyes never lied.

"Is everything okay?" I asked, causing Ruby's smile to fade.

Malia sat up immediately once she noticed that something was wrong with Ruby.

"No." The blonde said.

"What happened?" Malia asked, a scared and worried tone peeking through her voice.

"It's just," Ruby looked down at her feet. "I just got off the phone with Josh, and he told me that Disney is contemplating cancelling our movie."

My heart dropped.

"What?"
"What!?"
