Alex, who seems to just be waiting for Myles and Jamie to notice her presence, turned around with a sheepish smile.
"Oh! Hi, guys! 'Sup?" She greeted, "Casey? Ah, kababata ko."
Nakita ni Casey na umangat ang dalawang kilay ni Alex pagtapos niyang sabihin 'yon, but she decided to just play along by nodding. Alam na alam niya kasi na mahilig si Alex magmukhang misteryoso sa harap ng ibang tao.
"Huh? Ba't 'di namin alam 'yan? Ang kababata lang naman na pinakilala mo sa'min is si Ma-"
Bago pa man matapos magsalita si Jamie ay napahinto na siya nang makita niya ang nakakatakot na tingin ni Myles, as if taunting her to dare to continue her words. Kaya naman hindi na nagtangkang tapusin ni Jamie ang salita niya.
Alex just shrugged at what Jamie said, "Eh, 'di ko naman alam na magkikita pa kami ulit after high school."
"Wow, so sinasabi mo bang irrelevant na ko sa buhay mo porke't 'di na tayo nagkikita?" Casey sarcastically questioned her, which made the older laughed and pinch her cheeks, which the younger complained at.
"Of course not, silly! If ipapakilala man kita, do'n sa decent human beings."
Myles scoffed, "You were saying, Al?"
"If the shoe fits, Myles."
"You're obviously directing that to us-"
Alex looked at her wristwatch, acting like she just lost track of time. "Oh, wowie! Look at the time-! Tara na, Cassy? Sabi mo may study sesh kayo sa library? Sama ako!" Aya ni Alex sa kasama para lang maiwasan muna sila Myles at Jamie, obviously trying to irritate the two.
Casey, who didn't wanna stay for longer while around Jamie and Myles, knowing their reputation around the campus, nodded in agreement at Alex's statement.
"Sure."
"Pa'no, we'll get going, ah? See you 'round, buddies!" Alex winked at her friends and walked away from them along with Casey by her side.
Nang makalayo na ang dalawa, Jamie started speaking, "Alam mo, minsan napapaisip ako kung si Alex nga ba talaga pinakamatino sa'ting tatlo."
Myles rolled her eyes and smirked, "Sino bang nagsabing matinong tao 'yon? She's very playful and unpredictable. Minsan may mga bagay na siyang pinaplano na hindi napapansin ng iba because of how mischievous her personality is."
"True," Jamie agreed, "Sa tingin mo, ano kaya meron sa kanila ni Cass?"
Nagkibit-balikat si Myles, "Don't know and don't care."
"Luh! Myles naman!"
"'Di ko nga alam! Kulit!"
"Pa'no 'pag may something na sila ni Alex? Wala na 'kong pag-asa niyan kay Cass!" Jamie frowned.
Myles shook her head at her best friend's dramatic reaction, "You're really into the new girl?"
"I've said it before, diba? Besides, siguro naman nakita mo na performance niya in class kanina. Pala-recite ta's parang mas may alam pa sya sa lesson kaysa sa prof. Beauty and brains; full package kumbaga. Oo, mukhang masungit pero alam mo naman na plus points sa'kin 'yon..." Jamie blushed slightly, which made Myles look at her weirdly.
"You have weird taste in women, James..." Myles scoffed before chuckling at the sight of Jamie blushing. "You're hopeless. Hmm... If you do want to know what my opinion is between Alex and Casey, feel ko naman they're not interested at each other in that way."
Napangiti naman nang malaki si Jamie sa narinig niya mula kay Myles, "YES!"
"...pero I don't think Casey would see you in that way as well din."
