After a couple of classes, it was now their lunch break. Excited na lumabas ng classroom si Myles kasama si Jamie. Gusto nang ipagmayabang ni Myles sa matalik niyang kaibigan na mukhang unti-unti na niyang nakukuha ang atensyon ni Casey, which is what they've bet on in the first place.
Pagkalabas nila ng pinto, agad silang sinalubong ni Alex. "Heyya, Myles! And 'hi' to you, too, Jamie!" Bati nito sa kanila na may kasamang ngiti.
"'Sup, Alex!" Bati ni Jamie pabalik, "Punta kami cafeteria ngayon, sama ka?"
"Nah, I'm just here to talk to Myles. Thanks for the invite, though!" Sagot ni Alex sa kaniya.
Jamie frowned, "Sayang naman! Pero sige, mauna na 'ko sa cafeteria, ah, Myles? Kanina pa kasi ako nagugutom."
Myles nodded at her, "Go ahead. Sunod ako after namin mag-usap."
"Gege. Bye, Myles! Bye, Alex!" Paalam ni Jamie.
"See you 'round, buddy! Take care of that hunger of yours!" Paalam pabalik ni Alex habang kumakaway pa.
Nang makaalis na ang matalik na kaibigan ni Myles, humarap ngayon si Alex sa kaniya. Myles still has no clue kung ano bang gusto nilang pag-usapan.
Alex started speaking, "So, Myles... I've noticed that you did what I would expect you to do."
Myles raised a brow, "Huh? What do you mean?"
Alex chuckled, "'Wag ka nang pa-inosente. I saw you handing over your old lunch bag to Cassy earlier by the hallways. Pinagluto mo nga siya ng kimchi fried rice, 'no?"
Myles blinked, caught off-guard by the observation. She squinted, trying to read Alex's expression. "Yeah? What about it?" She responded after a while.
"Akala ko ba your word is to 'not chase, but attract'? Anong ginagawa mo ngayon?" Alex questioned, crossing her arms.
Myles scoffed and rolled her eyes, "Don't look too much into it, Alex. I am attracting her, simply by using methods that I figured she'd like in a partner."
"Methods, huh?" Alex smirked. "Well, seems like you're putting a lot of effort into it even though dapat laro lang ang lahat sa'yo."
Myles let out a frustrated sigh, "Whatever, Alex. I know what I'm doing. This is part of the plan."
Alex chuckled, clearly entertained by Myles's stubbornness. "Alright, fine. If you say so. But don't be surprised if this 'plan' of yours backfires. Watch yourself eat those words soon."
With that, Alex turned around and prepared herself to leave, her teasing demeanor remained unchanged. Or maybe it was all just to mask something else..?

Nang magpunta si Myles sa canteen para puntahan si Jamie, at para rin i-check kung kinakain na nga ni Casey ang binigay niyang pagkain. She's really looking forward to how Casey would react on her excellent cooking skills, as she says so herself.
Her eyes scanned around the cafeteria, looking for her classmate's figure. Ilang saglit lamang ay nahanap niya na kung saang table nakaupo sila Casey, Sky, and Sheila. Ngunit ang tanging naabutan niya lang ay siya, kasama ng mga kaibigan niya, na may kaharap na tray ng pagkain, containing meals appropriate for lunch— even Casey does.
Myles's face fell. This all just means that—
"Uy, Myles! Nandito ka na pala!" A voice called from behind her.
Myles turned around to see Jamie, happily holding the very same lunch box she had given Casey earlier.
"Ang bait talaga ni Cass! Tamo binigyan pa ko ng pagkain. 'Di ko na natiis, kinain ko na ka'gad sa sobrang excited ko!"
