Dahil malapit lang naman, nagsabi si Casey na 'wag na mag-abala si Myles na gamitin ang kotse niya. Bukod sa sayang sa gasolina, baka mawalan pa ng parking spot si Myles 'pag nagkataon.
After a 10-minute walk, with Myles holding an umbrella over Casey as if hindi niya parehong bitbit 'yung bag nilang dalawa, they both arrived at the cafe. And sure enough, nasa malapit na table lang sina Jamie and the rest of their friends.
"Uy, Myles! Casey! Susunod din pala kayo rito! Sana nag-sabay na tayo kanina." Malakas na bati ni Sheila nang makita niya ang dalawa.
"Myles kasi excited makita si Casey. Pustahan sosolohin niya lang siya rito." Saad ni Jamie, rolling her eyes.
Myles proved her wrong by taking one of the empty seats at their table, placing their bags down. Casey followed, taking a seat right across her and beside Sheila.
"Ampota naman." Jamie cursed.
"Nagtatampo ka pa rin ba kasi 'di kita sinabay kanina?" Tanong ni Myles sa kaniya.
"Ay, ba't ako magtatampo? Sino ka ba?" Sarkastikong sagot ni Jamie, turning away from her best friend.
"I'm sorry, James. Ano bang gusto mo? Libre na kita." Tanong ulit ni Myles at inilagay ang kamay sa balikat ni Jamie, clearly taking this lightly.
However, Jamie took off Myles' hand from her shoulder and faced her. "Ano ba, Myles?! Hindi ka ba marunong makiramdam? Dinaan ko lang sa biro kanina pero sa totoo lang ang sakit nung ginawa mo. Gets ko naman na gusto mo na ulit makasama si Casey for our first day, pero ngayon lang ulit ako humingi ng pabor sa'yo. I didn't want to be that person pero sana man lang naisip mo 'yung situation ko kanina, 'no?"
Nanlaki ang mga mata ni Myles sa sinabi ng matalik na kaibigan niya. 'Di niya in-expect ang iaakto sa kaniya ni Jamie, but she knows that what she's feeling right now is valid.
"Guys, stop. This is a public place. Saka dapat kayong dalawa lang mag-usap about d'yan, 'wag niyong dalhin dito sa table natin." Alex interfered, noticing how the other people inside the cafe were looking at them.
"No, Alex, she's right." Myles lowered her head down, sighing. "I... I'm sorry, James. I mean it. What you're feeling is valid. I'll take note of this and make sure it won't happen again." She apologized sincerely, still unable to meet Jamie's eyes.
An awkward silence fell between them, much to Alex's dismay. She didn't want their first day back at uni to become this way.
"Psst, bae." Alex leaned forward and whispered across the table to get Sky's attention. "Can you guys sit on a different table na lang muna? Kasi naman 'tong si Jamie rin, alam nang kasama rin natin si Cassy eh."
"Sure, Ali." Sky nodded before standing up. "Girls, let's lipat sa kabilang table!" Aya niya, directing towards Sheila and Casey
"Girls din kam—" Bago pa man matapos ni Jamie ang sasabihin, kinuha na ng tatlo ang kani-kanilang gamit at tumayo para lumipat sa isang table na medyo malayo sa kanila.
"I'm sorry, Casey." Bulong ni Myles, smiling weakly towards Casey.
Casey shook her head and smiled a little, mouthing the words 'no worries' before tagging along with Sheila and Sky.
Nang makalipat na ang tatlo, Alex immediately poked Jamie on the forehead quite hard.
"Aray! Tang-"
"You idiot! Naka-shutdown na naman ba prefrontal cortex mo?" Sermon ni Alex sa kaniya. "I'm not tolerating what Myles did to you, pero sana naman nilugar mo kahit papa'no!"
Jamie scoffed, crossing her arms. "Napuno na kasi ako, Lex. Ilang hangout na rin namin na-cancel niyang si Myles. Hindi lang ako nakapagtimpi nung nangangailangan na 'ko ta's inuna pa niyang lumandi."
