Nobody's pov
"So... how are you?" Felix started off, nervously. Watching Minho sit there without a word.
They've decided to talk while hyunjin was with chan and seungmin. Felix was kind of worried that those two are interrogating his sweet introverted boyfriend. But he wasn't in any better position, felix knows hyunjin didn't tell Minho about them yet. As much as it hurts to hide, not showing how he loves the older is a bigger task than anything. But Felix understands it.
"Good" Minho said. One word.
I see how you two are best friends.
Felix never had any problems starting a conversation with a complete stranger. He used to be the bubbly person that had a lot of friends, until he realised that no one was actually a true friend to him. They loved him, but he was tossed out because apparently he was boring. Felix, who never shut ups and always yapp nonsense is boring. What an excuse. So he didn't have any interest in having new friends or starting a conversation after that. He was done. But in this case, Minho is his brother. And the older one doesn't look like the one to talk.
"How about we order something first?" He said, and Minho shrugged. Like he isn't interested in any of this conversation. Felix was really trying, but this is too much.
"If you feel uncomfortable, we can stop, I'll leave. I know it's awkward, but you don't need to keep up" Felix blurted out. Hurt flashing in his eyes. Minho jolted a second, and he started speaking after breathing in.
"I.. that's not it, yongbok. I just don't know where to start. What to say. How to look.. it's all complicated" Minho gazed at his brother, his glance is nothing but sincerity. Felix sighed in relief.
"Thank god. I thought..you were forcing yourself just for Hyunjin" Felix replied, even though part of Minho's reason is hyunjin. That's not the whole reason why the elder accepted to talk to his brother. He just wanted to know. To know...
"Are you and uh mom doing good there?" Minho asked, with great difficulty.
"About that..yeah it's ups and downs but we're always there for each other. She always did her best, working herself beyond her limits. And I was thinking..." Felix glanced doubtful at Minho, like he's afraid of the question.
"Your uni is gonna complete this year right?? So if you're free after that...how about...you visit mom once?? It's just she misses you-" Felix finally gazed back at the older face and his heart sank with Minho's answer.
"Yongbok..I....can't....dad already decided that I'm going to start working in his company as soon as I graduate..and I'd be busy by then" Minho sighed as he disagreed. Even though that's not the whole reason, his so called dad wouldn't like it if he had any meet ups with his mother. Even talking with yongbok right now feels dangerous to Minho. He was scared that his father would hurt felix. Any wrong move, he'd drag felix into this hell.
"I understand, but it's not like I'm asking you to completely shift over there. I'm just asking... it'd be nice if you just saw her once. She's been missing you a lot—" Minho spoke before felix could finish.
"Common yongbok, it's been like what? Fourteen years since y'all left..she's missing me now of all year's? Tell her that she doesn't need to feel guilty for me. I'm fine, I have people who I love here, I have no business to come over. It's better to keep things the way they are, without any lingering connections. You should go back soon too, It won't be good if dad meets you-" Minho stopped himself before saying anything. He shut his mouth abruptly.
Felix's throat felt dry with the elders answer. He just wished that his mother could see Minho one last before it was too late, she was feeling guilty and blaming herself for years. Felix was surprised that Minho could think that she would listen to any of his words.
