-Chapter Sixteen-
She's the reason my life is in chaos!"What kind of privacy do we need?" Kenzie thought to herself, still trying to wrap her head around Jungkook's sudden change in demeanor.
The waiter arrived, placing a spread of dishes on the table: Citrus and Avocado Salad, Grilled Lemon-Herb Chicken, Mojito-Inspired Fruit Salad, Coconut-Lime Sorbet, and two glasses of Mojitos.
"I hope you like my taste," Jungkook said with a grin, revealing his bunny teeth as he grabbed the napkin and placed it over his lap. "I gave you the option to select your lunch, yet you relied on me."
"You have quite a classy taste," Kenzie remarked, picking up her fork and knife to cut into the grilled chicken. "I would've guessed you to be more of a hamburger kind of person."
"Well, I am usually a hamburger type of person," Jungkook replied, swallowing a bite. "But the amount of times Dad has brought me here has made me appreciate this restaurant's food. It's really exquisite!"
Kenzie smiled, nodding her head. Even if this moment was fleeting, she chose to enjoy it. She knew that in one of the following days, Jungkook might not be this relaxed or friendly, but she wasn't going to back down.
This was a big game, and she was the pro player here.
"So, what do you think?" Jungkook asked, tilting his head slightly, breaking her train of thought.
"I think it's delicious," she said sincerely. "You definitely have good taste."
"Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it." He grinned, clearly pleased with the compliment.
"They went a little heavy on the lemon," she commented, chewing thoughtfully.
Jungkook chuckled at her observation. "You don't look like my assistant at the moment but more like a businesswoman here to crack a deal."
Kenzie smirked, enjoying the compliment. "I'm not gonna lie, but sometimes I get that rich royal heiress vibes from you," he added, taking a sip of his mojito.
"Really? You think so?"
"Absolutely," he replied, feeling more at ease. "You carry yourself like you own the fucking place."
"Maybe I do," she teased, leaning back in her chair with a playful smirk.
Kenzie chuckled, shaking her head as she reached for the mojito. But as soon as she took a sip, she coughed a little.
"What happened?" Jungkook gasped, concern flashing across his face. "Did you not like it?"
"It has alcohol in it!" she exclaimed, licking her lips in surprise.
"Ahh, you mean the rum," he replied a hint of amusement in his voice. "Yeah, I like my mojito to be classic. I had no idea you were the virgin mojito type." She raised an eyebrow at him, a smirk playing on her lips at his words.
