-Chapter Twenty Six-
Me in your dreams and reality.

"Why do you always pick broken things, Jeon Kenzie?"

Kenzie felt her heart race at his question. She wasn't sure how to answer, feeling exposed under the intensity of his gaze.

"I don't know," she admitted more to herself than her husband.

"Because you always want to fix broken things," her mind screamed at her.

"You don't have to fix everything, you know. Sometimes it's okay to let things be broken," Jungkook said, his tone gentle yet firm as if he was just reading her mind.

"To you, broken things always hold value," her mind screamed, but she remained silent.

Jungkook's grip on her wrist tightened as he gently pulled her to her feet, ensuring she wouldn't hurt herself on the shards scattered around.

As he helped her up, a memory flickered in his mind—Kenzie crouching on the floor the first time he saw her, trying to collect chunks of broken glass.

Kenzie had hurt her knee that night, determined to gather the pieces despite the pain. That fierce stubbornness was part of what drew Jungkook to her, compelling him to defend her and help her out of that situation.

Now, as she looked up to meet his gaze again, the dark desire swirling in his eyes made her heart flutter. The emotions she felt were undeniable, a definite obsession that surged within her.

It was a feeling that made her want to trap him in nothing but her desire for him.

"If only I could trap you and stare at you all day Jungkook," she thought darkly looking into his mesmerizing orbs.

"The maids will clean these, Kenzie. You two go to the table," Mrs. Jeon's voice broke the moment, and Kenzie turned to see her smiling softly at them.

Finally, an actual real smile was here.

"Kenzie, don't be clumsy enough to pick up broken glass with your bare hands. You might end up hurting yourself," she cautioned. Kenzie nodded in understanding, grateful for her mother-in-law's concern.

Without uttering anything, Jungkook gently but firmly dragged Kenzie out of the kitchen. All the while, she was lost in watching him, admiring every detail like she always loved to do.

It had become a habit, an addiction she enjoyed more with each passing day.

"Sit," he whispered, looking intensely into her eyes.

"Do his eyes always look this addicting?" she thought to herself, tilting her head slightly as she tried to capture the moment.

"Kenzie, sit, my child," Mr. Jeon's loud voice made her flinch, snapping her out of her thoughts.
