-Chapter One-
She looks exactly like him."Order in the court!" he shouted, his voice bouncing off the high ceilings. The chatter quieted down, leaving an uncomfortable silence.
The courtroom felt heavy with tension. Rows of wooden benches were filled with onlookers, their whispers barely hiding the seriousness of the situation.
"Today, we are here to discuss the case of Alexander Zade, the late billionaire diamond tycoon known in business, politics, and royal affairs," the Judge said, his face serious.
"The evidence has led to a guilty verdict for money laundering. Therefore, all of Mr. Zade's properties and assets will be taken by the state."
Gasps filled the audience. In the front row, the Zade family was in shock. Alexander Zade's wife squeezed her hands together, her knuckles turning white against her dark dress.
The first heir clenched his fists, anger flashing in his eyes, while the youngest heir looked confused, his eyes wide. The weight of the moment pressed heavily on them all.
Beside him, his eighteen-year-old sister, the only heiress of the Zade family, stared blankly at the judge, her heart racing.
Her fingers reached for a delicate locket around her neck, a precious gift from her father that she cherished more than anything.
A single tear rolled down her cheek, glinting in the light as it fell. It felt like a cruel injustice. This was all a lie. Their father was not the person the court claimed he was; he was a kind man who always helped those in need. Today, he stood accused of something he had never done.
This harsh world had already taken their father away, and now they were losing the one thing that remained—his good name. It felt like it was being tarnished right before their eyes.
They had come to seek justice for their father's murder, but the court dismissed it as a simple drunk driving case. Instead of holding the real culprits accountable, the judge accused the Zade family of money laundering, turning their grief into a cruel mockery. It felt like a betrayal as their father's name was dragged through the mud while his true murderers went free.
Whispers of sympathy and judgment surrounded her, but all she felt was the weight of her loss. The world had turned upside down, and in that moment, nothing mattered except the deep ache in her heart.
The only words that escaped her trembling lips were, "H-how will we live our life after all this?"
When she glanced at the women and girls staring at her, she saw their satisfaction and pleasure. They were thrilled to see the once-powerful Zade family brought low. Their dignity was shattered, no longer what it had been.
After everything that had happened in the past month, she understood one thing: their lives would never be the same after this.
