-Chapter Eleven-
Enemies-to-lovers bullshit.

"I hope you're happy with how I explained all the strategy to the employees in the meeting," Kenzie said, looking at Jungkook, who sat across from her in the conference room. Everyone had left just minutes ago, leaving only the two of them in the large, empty space.

Jungkook looked her with his arms crossed, his demeanor cold and stern. Kenzie sat with her iPad open, giving him a weary look.

The two-hour meeting without any breaks had drained her energy, and now she felt like she might faint. Jungkook's arrogant attitude wasn't helping the situation at all.

She understood that bosses needed to be tough and serious, but being arrogant and rude was not part of the role. It frustrated her beyond belief.

"It was fine," Jungkook said, but his voice lacked warmth, almost mechanical. He could have appreciated her endless efforts, but here he was, playing the cold boss.

"Thank you," Kenzie replied, tapping her pen rapidly against the screen.

She raised her gaze to lock eyes with him, and there it was again—the sassy bold challenge in her expression that always made Jungkook question why she had such a bratty attitude.

"Just remember, the next steps are critical. We can't afford any mistakes," he said, his tone firm and unyielding.

"I understand," she replied, nodding quickly as she jotted down his comments.

"Not that he'll ever lead a meeting. This dude literally depends on me. Looks like Mr. Jeon left him for me to babysit," she thought to herself rolling her eyes internally, frustration bubbling beneath the surface.

"What kind of things are you thinking about me, Ms. Zade?" Jungkook's voice cut through her thoughts, and she raised her gaze to meet his, now bold and unwavering.

"Just wondering how someone can be so detached while expecting everyone else to carry the load," she shot back, her tone playful yet laced with defiance.

Jungkook's expression shifted slightly, a mixture of surprise and annoyance flickering across his features. "I'm not detached, I'm just focused on results."

"Focused, huh? It feels more like you're just delegating all the responsibility," she replied, a smirk tugging at her lips. "Maybe it's time you step up."

For a moment, they held each other's gaze, the tension crackling in the air. Jungkook clenched his jaw, clearly not used to being challenged. "You think you know everything, don't you?"

"Not everything, but I know enough to see when someone's avoiding their duties," Kenzie said, her voice steady. "Leadership isn't just about giving orders, it's about being part of the team, too."
