-Chapter Twenty Two-
Love is obsession, obsession is desire.

Jungkook gazed out of the window as the familiar view of his home came into sight, the two-hour drive from the palace feeling both long and exhausting.

He sighed, lowering his head to glance at Kenzie, who was peacefully asleep with her head resting on his arm.

She had been like this for the past hour, and when her head had turned to rest against him, he hadn't had the heart to move away.

To Jungkook, Kenzie looked too serene to disturb. Her features were relaxed, and a soft smile occasionally graced her lips as she dreamed.

Reaching out, he gently adjusted the crown that adorned her head, his fingers tracing the delicate contours of her face. He marveled at how, just a few months ago, he had helped her with the ill-mannered waiter, never imagining that she would soon be his bride.

As he caressed her soft cheeks, he tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, admiring her beauty in the soft light of the car. No doubt, his bride was stunning in every possible way—inside and out.

It was a surreal moment, reflecting on how quickly everything had changed. From strangers to partners, their lives had intertwined in ways he never anticipated.

Why do I keep finding you beautiful when I shouldn't?

"We have arrived," Jungkook said in a deep voice, his thumb gently caressing her cheekbones.

Kenzie flinched at the sound of his voice and the heat of his touch. Slowly, she opened her eyes, looking around to realize they had reached the Jeon Mansion.

"Oh, it was a long drive," Kenzie whispered, her voice raspy as she yawned.

Jungkook straightened himself, flexing his muscles after sitting like a statue for the past hour, careful not to disturb her sleep.

He could only imagine how exhausting the wedding had been for her. Wearing that heavy gown for more than six hours while standing like some kind of Barbie doll to greet relatives, friends, and business associates was no small feat.

"The venue was quite far away," she added with a sigh, rubbing her forehead.

"Yeah, our palace is still on the old side of the emirate, and it is pretty far," Jungkook muttered under his breath.

"That palace belongs to you?" Kenzie asked, her eyes widening in surprise.

"Well, technically, yes. It is a property of the Jeons," Jungkook revealed with a shrug.

Kenzie's mind raced at the thought. That palace was massive—freaking huge, even—triple the size of the Jeon Mansion. The wedding had been filled with thousands of guests, and that grand venue belonged to them?
