MAIA'S POV

Princess Alessandra. That’s her name. I gasped as I watched her enter the throne room. Walking toward the Queen, she looked exquisite. Like the princess she was, her stride radiated power. She held her head high for every eye in the vast throne room. She smiled at us as she spotted us.

"My sister is beautiful," Maricar praised beside me. “She looks perfect with the crown,” Kim added. “Oh my gosh, this is like a fairy tale. We have a princess as our friend,” Tam exclaimed.

But I noticed something strange about her. Why did she look so pale?

“People of Abel,” the Queen began. Allie stood on her left. “I hereby introduce to you my niece, Princess Alessandra of Abel.”

We all offered a royal vow, and the others from different worlds scrambled to follow suit.

“Welcome, Princess Alessandra,” the assembly of high officials, dukes, duchesses, ministers, lords, and ladies chorused.

“Though she has been away for a long time,” Queen Lhara continued, “she is back. My niece, your mother will be so proud of you.”

Applause erupted from the crowd.

The Queen signaled for the banquet to begin. I watched as Allie and the Queen chatted happily. It warmed my heart to see them bonding. But why wasn’t the former queen here yet?

“The food is delicious,” Tam remarked.

I turned to her, surprised.

“It’s just the same as in our world,” Rainier replied.

I hadn’t had a chance to talk to Allie since we arrived. I wanted to ask the Queen about the passage back to the human world.

“This kingdom is so extravagant,” Rollieh commented, taking in his surroundings.

“They’re not affected by what’s happening in other kingdoms,” Zen added.

“Is it true that the queen is so powerful she can summon the God of the Moon?” Jhosie asked.

“There is no such thing as the God of the Moon,” I replied.

“Have you forgotten the old folk tales? Goddess Iona punished the God of the Moon for killing innocent lives, including her lover.”

I had heard about it when I was young, but no one could prove it because there was no evidence left of the ancient beings in this world.

Jhosie continued, “They even say he was reincarnated as a human as punishment. He will never have any power.”

I suddenly glanced at Allie as she approached our table. There was no comparison to the beauty of Princess Alessandra. Her golden eyes, matching the color of her hair, always captivated my heart.

“Princess Alessandra,” I greeted her right away, offering her a seat.

“Hi, Maia. Hello, everyone! How is the place arranged for you?” she asked with a smile as she sat down.

“Sis, it’s beautiful! I feel like a princess too,” Maricar replied, beaming with excitement.

“Why isn’t Lloyd in the room with us?” Tam asked, frowning.

That was when I realized that Lloyd was missing from our group.

“Sir Sandrei arranged it,” Tam complained.

Kim, on the other hand, remained quiet.

“Have you spoken to the queen yet?” I asked Allie.

She looked at me. “Not yet. Maybe tomorrow.”
