Chapter 9 (The First Night Together)

After Frigga left, Serenity and Loki were left all alone. Loki asked, "Well, are you ready to go to my chambers, dear?" Serenity said, "I guess so." Loki could see her nervousness. "Don't worry Serenity. I won't do anything that you don't want me to do, I promise." Loki leads Serenity down the long corridors that led to his chambers. When they reached Loki's chambers, he opened the door and let her enter the room. Serenity was holding onto the nightgown that Frigga had given her as she looked around the room. Loki asked, "Do you like it, dear?" Serenity said, "Yes, it's very nice. Your royal colors must be green and gold." Loki smiles and said, "Yes, they are. Do you have royal colors on Olympus?" Serenity answered, "Yes, I do. They are pink and gold." Serenity walked around the room checking everything out. Loki's room had a very spacious living area, bathroom and bedroom all which was decorated in his royal colors of green and gold. Serenity walked into the living area and sat down on the couch, "This is a very comfortable couch. I should sleep very well on it." Loki's smile faded, "You don't have to sleep on the couch, Serenity. You can share the bed with me." Serenity said, "But your father said that I had to sleep on the couch, remember?" Loki said, "Well, what my father doesn't know won't hurt him." Serenity said, "Maybe, but I would know and I don't want to do anything to make the All Father mad. So, I'll just sleep out here for now."

Loki frowned, "But really Serenity, there's no need for you sleeping on that uncomfortable couch when I have a bed that's plenty big enough for two people. I promise I'll behave myself....at least until after we're married that is." He had a sly grin on his face. Serenity said softly, "I don't know." Loki walks up to her and puts his hand on her cheek, "I promise I won't do anything. You have my word as the Prince of Asgard." She said softly, "Well, I guess it would be Ok as long as you keep your word." Loki puts his hand over his heart, "I give you, my word. I just don't want you sleeping on that uncomfortable couch." Serenity said, "It looks like it is comfortable enough." Loki said, "But it's not, trust me." Serenity nod yes.

Then she goes into the bathroom and changes into the nightgown that Frigga gave to her. Then she comes back out into the bedroom. Loki's eyes grew big. "You look absolutely beautiful in that nightgown." Serenity smiles shyly, "Thank you." Loki got to thinking that it was going to be a lot harder to keep his word not to touch her. She noticed Loki's expression. "Um... maybe I should sleep on the couch after all." Loki realized that she noticed his expression and quickly said, "No, no I'll be OK sweetheart. Please stay with me." Serenity said softly, "Well, if you think it will be OK." Loki said, "Yes, it will be fine, I promise." So, Loki pulled back the covers and motioned for Serenity to join him in the bed. She slowly walks over to the bed and gets in on the other side. She laid down, staying close to the edge of the bed. Loki climbed into the bed too and stayed on his side of the bed, but he really wanted to pull Serenity close to him and hold her all through the night, but he kept his word and stayed on his side of the bed.
