Odin Requests Loki's Presence

Chapter 10 

Loki had a restless night because all he wanted to do was pull Serenity close to him and hold her, but he had to keep his promise and stay on his side of the bed. Serenity didn't get much sleep either because she was listening for Loki to make sure that he kept his word and stayed on his side of the bed. When morning came, they both got up tired because neither one had a good night's sleep. Loki looks at Serenity, "Did you have a good night, dear?" Serenity answers, "No not really. I couldn't sleep." Loki looked at Serenity and said, "Me neither. I had a difficult time staying on my side of the bed because all I wanted to do was hold you in my arms. Serenity said, "Maybe tonight I should sleep on the couch so that you can sleep or maybe get a different room." Loki said, "No, no I don't want you to do that. I'll be fine. I promise." Serenity looked at Loki and could see just how tired he was, "No, I really think I should sleep either on the couch or in a different room. You need your rest." Loki answers, "No, what I need is you by my side." There was a knock-on Loki's door, "Damn, who is that this early in the morning." Loki looks at Serenity, "Still here and I'll go and see who it is." While Loki went to the door, Serenity went into the bathroom to change back into her ball gown from the previous night. When Loki got to the door, he opened it and saw a royal guard standing there. "I'm sorry to bother you, your highness but the All Father has sent for you." Loki rubbed his face with his hand. "Ok, tell him that I'll be there as soon as I can." The guard bowed and then left.

When Loki turned around, he saw that Serenity was already dressed in her ball gown from the previous night. Loki smiles at Serenity, "You didn't waste any time in getting dressed, did you dear?" Serenity said, "I figured It was best that I got dressed just in case it was your father." Loki said, "No, it was only a guard telling me that my father wants to speak with me. You can stay here and rest while I'm gone. I shouldn't be gone for too long. So, please make yourself at home. If you need anything, just tell the guard that I'm going to leave outside my room, and he will take care of you." Serenity nods her head yes. Then Loki leaves to go and talk to his father.

Upon arriving at the throne room, Loki tells the guards that were guarding the throne room to let him enter because his father needs to speak to him. So, the guards allowed him to enter. Odin was sitting on his throne waiting for Loki. "You sent for me, father?" Odin said, "Said word has come to my attention that Aphrodite and Hermes are going to send someone here to Asgard to attempt to carry Serenity back to Olympus. I thought that you would like to know this, my son." Loki's face darkens with anger, "I don't care who they send, Serenity is staying here with me." Odin asked where is Serenity now, son." Loki replies, "She's in my chambers with a guard standing outside the door." Odin said, "Good thinking son. No one will be able to get to her with a royal guard standing guard over her." Loki said, "I must get back to Serenity father. I don't like leaving her alone, especially now that I know this information." Odin said, "Go then my son and protect your future wife and queen. I will also make arrangements to protect Serenity." Loki nods yes to his father then leaves to return to Serenity.
