Aphrodite and Hermes Return

Chapter 6 

Later on, that night, Aphrodite and Hermes came back to the royal palace to get Serenity. When Serenity saw her parents coming her body stiffened with fear because she didn't want to go back with her parents. Loki sees her reaction to her parents coming and he gently puts his hand on top of hers, "Don't worry my dear. They will not take you away from me. I will not allow it." Serenity asks, "But what if they won't allow us to get married?" Loki said, "We already have the blessing of the All Father, so it really doesn't matter what they say." As Aphrodite and Hermes approached Odin, Loki and Serenity, Loki's jaw clenched at the sight of them. The very thought of them using her again in that way made his blood boil. He was determined to keep her safe from harm even if it was from her own parents.

As Aphrodite and Hermes reach Odin, Loki and Serenity, they greet them, "Greetings all mighty All Father and Prince Loki. I do hope that our daughter wasn't too much of a burden to you." Aphrodite said, Odin just gives Aphrodite a hard look, which confuses Aphrodite. "Is there something wrong all mighty All Father?" Odin said, "I'll let my son explain." Odin looks at Loki, who was ready for his face off with Serenity's parents. Aphrodite and Hermes stood there still very confused. Loki finally said, "Yes, Aphrodite, I do have something to say to you and your husband." Aphrodite asks, "What is it your highness?" Loki said, "I have decided to take Serenity as my wife and queen." Aphrodite's eyes lit up with excitement. Aphrodite said, "I'm honored that you would choose my daughter to be your wife and queen Prince Loki." Loki gives Aphrodite a hard look and said, "I wouldn't be too happy just yet if I were you, Aphrodite. You haven't heard the rest of what I have to say." Aphrodite gets confused once again. Loki continues, "I am taking Serenity as my wife and queen but......you will not be gaining any land from Asgard." Aphrodite's eyes narrowed into a slight frown. Then she asked, "What do you mean? It is customary for the parents of the bride to acquire land from her new husband. This is highly unusual Prince Loki. I don't understand your reasoning behind your decision." Loki said, "Yes, that is normally the way things go, but it won't go that way for you and your husband."

Aphrodite gets a little upset and asks, "Do you mind telling me why you have chosen to do this Prince Loki?" Loki answers, "Yes, I'll tell you why. It's because I know what your plan is, Aphrodite and I won't allow it to happen." Aphrodite eyes narrow some more, "What do you mean you know what my plan is? I don't understand" Loki gets a little upset, "Don't play stupid with me Aphrodite. Serenity told me of your plan to gain Asgardian land by marrying her off to either me or Thor, but it won't work. I will marry Serenity, but YOU WILL NOT receive any land." Aphrodite gets mad and looks at Odin, "You can not allow this to happen All Father. We have the right to have a piece of Asgardian land if your son is to marry our daughter. It is customary." Odin said with a stern voice, "Don't tell me what is customary when you have tried to deceive all of us. You came here to Asgard pretending to be innocent knowing all along that you planned on trying to take over Asgard." Aphrodite knew that she was caught in her own trap. All she could do was just look at Odin and Loki as they spoke.
