Chapter 12 

Serenity asked Loki, "What did your father want?" Loki said with a smirk, "He wanted to tell me that he heard that your mother had someone coming to take you back to Olympus, and what do I find when I come back to my chambers......your brother." Serenity said, "But I told you that my brother was deceived by my mother just like everyone else. Plus, you heard that my brother isn't going to take me back. So, everything is OK now, right?" Loki smiles at Serenity and said, "Yes dear, everything is alright now." Serenity looks at her brother, "Cupid, would you like to meet Loki's family?" Cupid answers, "Yeah, sure sis. I would like to know what kind of family my sister is getting." Serenity said, "It's a good family, Cupid. He has a very loving and caring mother, and a devoted father and brother. In fact, his father is the All Father of the nine realms and his brother is the God of Thunder." Cupid said, "Impressive. So, I guess you are getting a good family after all." Loki said with a smug look on his face, "The best of families." Cupid smiles, "Yeah, I guess you got a point there. Considering my family isn't that close as you probably already know." Loki said, "Yes, I know. Especially since your mother was using your sister as a pawn to gain glory and prestige for her own gain." Cupid said, "I knew what she was up to but I couldn't stop her. I tried but you can't tell the Goddess of Love anything because she thinks she knows it all." Loki said, "I don't think you tried hard enough." Cupid said, "Yeah, I did but you don't know my mother. Once her mind is made up then there's nothing anyone can do to change it. I love my sister, and I want the best for her. After all, I practically raised her." Loki said, "What do you mean you 'practically raised her'?" Cupid said, "It's just what I said, I practically raised her because my parents were too busy doing their 'godly duties' to even take the time to raise Serenity and since I'm the oldest, it was up to me." Loki looks at Serenity, "You never told me that, dear." Serenity said, "I was too ashamed to tell you. Your family seems so perfect and mine......well it's not." Loki looked down at Serenity and put his hand on her cheek, "Believe me darling, my family is far from being perfect. We have our spats every now and again just like everyone else."

Serenity asks Loki, "Loki, can we find a room for my brother?" Loki said, "Of course, sweetheart." Loki looks at Cupid, "Follow me Cupid and I will take you to your new room." Cupid said, "Ok if that is what my sister wants then I'll stay here in the palace." Serenity asks, "Where were you going to stay, Cupid?" Cupid said with a wink, "Oh, you know me sis, I would find a place to stay." Serenity said, "Yeah, probably some whore house." Cupid said, "Hey, sis. Give me a little bit of credit. I do have my standards." Serenity said, "Oh really. Since when, brother?" Cupid has a smirk on his face, "Well, I do most of the time. What can I say, the God Love is in high demand by many beautiful women and who am I to deny them of my company." Serenity said, "Oh, Cupid. You won't do. What am I going to do with you, brother?" Cupid just laughs, "I don't know sis. I guess you just love me." Serenity said, "I do love you Cupid, but at times you try my patience." Loki laughs at the siblings. "It's clear to see darling, that you and your brother love each other." Serenity said, "I do love my brother even if he does get on my nerves at times. Like Cupid said earlier, he practically raised me, which only makes our bond even closer." Cupid asks, "Well, where is this room that I'll be staying in?" Loki said, "Follow me and I'll take you there." Loki looks at Serenity, "I'll be back darling as soon as I take your brother to his room." Serenity said, "Ok, I'll be here waiting."
