Chapter 17(Odin Talks To Serenity)

Odin looked at Serenity and said, "Thank you for being here to defuse the situation with your grandfather. I did not want to go to war with the Olympian gods, but I would have if the situation called for it. Fortunately, that didn't happen, thanks to you and your brother." Serenity said, "You are most welcome, sire. I did not want Asgard to go to war with Olympus either. Even though my mother started all of this, Olympus is my birthplace." Odin asks, "What do you think your grandfather will do to your mother for deceiving him?" Serenity answers, "I don't know, All Father. I can only imagine that it won't be pleasant. Grandfather was pretty angry when he left." Loki comes and puts his arms around Serenity, "You see father, Serenity is going to make a great queen. She handled her grandfather with class and dignity. Just like a queen should." Odin said, "Yes, I agree son. She did exceptionally well dealing with her grandfather and helping to avert a war. You will have a great queen by your side, son." Loki smiles, "Yes, father I know. I knew from the moment I laid eyes on her that she was queen material." Serenity smiles sweetly at Loki. Loki leans over and whispers in Serenity's ear, "Seeing you take charge of the situation was a big turn on for me, baby." Serenity smiles shyly at Loki who whispers once again, "And so does that shy smile of yours." Odin was watching Loki and Serenity, and he cleared his throat to get their attention. Loki and Serenity look at Odin, "Yes, father, do you have something to say?" Odin sits back on his throne, "Yes, I do. You and Serenity need to start preparing for your wedding ceremony. Two weeks is not that far away." Serenity said, "Excuse me, All Father but what will I do about my clothes that are on Olympus?" Odin said, "Well, it's quite obvious that we can't go to Olympus and get them. So, we will have to get our royal dressmaker to make you some appropriate clothes. I will send her to your room at once." Serenity said, "Well, um.. "Odin looks at Serenity, "Is there something wrong child?" Loki speaks up, "I think what Serenity is trying to say is that she has been with me these past couple of days. I have been keeping my eye on her, just in case her parents try anything." Odin said, "I see. So, she hasn't been sleeping in her own room." Loki said, "No, father. I didn't want her to. I was afraid that her parents might come back for her.....and I still am." Odin's face turned solemnly as he stared at Loki. Loki knew that his father didn't approve of Serenity staying in his bedchambers, but he didn't care. All he cared about was Serenity's safety. Loki said, "Father, the danger is still present. Serenity's parents still might try to come and take her away. So, we still need to be vigilant." Loki was hoping that his father would believe him and allow Serenity to continue to stay with him. Odin finally said, "Very well, she may continue to stay with you but not in the same bed. She will sleep on the couch." Loki didn't like that idea at all, "Father, why must she sleep on the couch when we are to be married very soon?" Odin said, "Because it is the proper thing to do, son." Loki tried to argue his point, "But father, if her parents should sneak into my bedchambers, I wouldn't be able to get to her fast enough if she is on the couch." Odin said, "I will station a guard outside of your chambers to ensure her safety." Loki still protested, "But father....." Odin said firmly, "But nothing son. If you insist on her being in your chambers, then she will do so by sleeping on the couch." Loki knew that he couldn't argue with his father, so he just gave in.

Odin looks towards Serenity, "I will send the royal dressmaker to Loki's chambers, so she might fit you with a new wardrobe." Serenity replied, "Thank you, All Father." Odin nods yes. Then everyone left the throne room and returned to their respective chambers. As they walk back to their chambers, Cupid asks Loki, "You mean to tell me that my little sister has been staying with you all of this time?" Loki looks at Cupid, "Yes, Cupid she has. I have been trying to protect her from her parents." Cupid replied, "Are you sure that's all you are doing with my little sister?" Serenity said, "Cupid, that's enough. I don't need your protection from Loki. If you want to protect me, then do it from our parents." Cupid replied, "I plan on it sis, don't you worry about that." Loki said, "I know you want to protect your sister, Cupid but you don't have to worry about me hurting her. I love her too much to ever do anything to cause her harm." Cupid said, "Yeah, I know you do, it's just a big brother's reaction." Loki said, "That's understandable but you don't have to worry about me." Cupid nods his head yes. When they reached the long hallway that leads to the royal chambers, they went their separate ways.
